I understand it

people are judged by their post count because it shows some longevity. If you have 1000 posts you aren't some new **** just showing up spouting crap.

I havent lived at USM or Hattiesburg for over 3 years. I haven't changed my name for the exact reasons you speak of...

Somewhat disagree. Joined Dec. 2004 (reader for some time before that) and a 255 post count. Just don't join in to every BS/pissing contest on the board.

well, you moved your account over...how is that any different? You emailed the head of the site to get a temporary password and everything; you could've just signed up again.

I can see why anyone would want to keep their old user name. I don't really understand why anyone would care about their post count, but so what if they do? It doesn't hurt anything and dawgstudent is willing to do it, so why should I care? Actually, I'm just realizing that I don't even know if my post count carried forward or not. Guess I'll check after I post this

I didn't lose any counts (well maybe a 50 or so) but I did lose 4 years of membership. Not good.

I lost 500. No big deal...

I'll just get 6,000 again later this year.

Whoa. I lost another 1,300 since then for 1,800+ total. I was at 5,500 something yesterday. Maybe I won't get 6,000 this year. Again, no big deal.
