and they have some good fans too.
I'm just saying that they have a higher ratio of good fans at baseball games than say, football.
I would imagine that many of their bad fans left early- there were certainly some empty seats at the end. Of course, ESPN isn't going to mention that because LSU baseball fans are the paragon of virtue and good fans for ESPN.
That brings me to another point- I think ESPN way overplays the "LSU fans are good and classy". Especially tonight. Like I said- I'm sure some of their fans were applauding their own team for their season, and not Stony Brook. Obviously, some were also applauding Stony Brook. But I don't think it was an en masse thing.
Like the SEC Tournament- I expected to see a ton of LSU fans at the game even though their team wasn't in it anymore. That's what I was led to believe that they do- right? I think I saw a grand total of five LSU fans at the championship game. It wasn't anything impressive on their part.
And then the stuff about Manieri and his community service program and the announcer crying about it and hugging Manieri- seriously? That's a good thing and all, but I don't think it's something to cry over. Just overboard.
I'm sure they will talk about all the LSU fans in Omaha rooting for Stony Brook next week when in reality it's going to be like 10 LSU fans that are retired and have nothing better to do with their lives and had tickets.
There's a pretty good chance the fans high fiving the Stony Brook players was overblown too.
