Did we lose to Kansas today?

OMG, the yentas are out in full force today. We dominated an admittedly bad KU team, especially on the ground, which was really nice to see and it would've been by 3-4 TDs without our turnovers, which are obviously still concerning. Our running game was great, Laviano was pretty good, and our defense was at least decent. Enjoy the win. And people posting about wanting to see us lose so we can fire Flood is beyond the pale. We're 2-2 and while I believe Flood should've been canned already for his errors in judgment and lack of discipline on the team, he's still our coach and I want us to win every game. Always.

Numbers, I agree with most of your post. I was impressed with our O-line in terms of assignments. Hope that they can do it against bigger, stronger and quicker D-lineman/backers. Secondary, still too many open receivers. RBs looked great. Biggest concern is at QB. He is afraid to throw it more than 15 yards to open receivers. We will not march 75 yards down field on running plays/short throws against any other opponent on the schedule save Army. Very bad sign today despite a much needed win.

I think the fact that we didn't play a lot better than we did is why so many are concerned. Kansas is terrible. As you mentioned, turnovers and penalties are just piling up game after game and it will kill us against the rest of our schedule. If we had really totally smashed Kansas, I think you would see a lot more optimism for the future.

We absolutely dominated that game. They literally could not stop us. And yesI realize the caliber of opponent we were playing today. But that doesn't change the fact that they knew were going to run the ball and it didn't make a damn bit of difference.

The thing that upsets me is that we should have won by 28.

We should have dominated. We were the more talented team by far... Winning by 13 is a lose when you are looking at the long term goal of becoming a better program. We learn nothing from week to week.. We constantly are stuck in the mud as a program.

A BIG Rutgers win. ECU beat VaTech today, so don't think the "experts" really know as much as they want you to think.

We played no better than we played last week, the opponent was just not as good as Penn State so instead of a loss it was a win. If Laviano is not able to stretch the field against a good defense then the Michigan State game is going to be a loooooong day.

I am still waiting for the "ah-ha! Moment" with Laviano. The one that makes me say "now I see what the coaches are seeing in practice".

Dominating is not winning by 13. Dominating is knowing you are playing a lower caliber team and putting up 35 in the first half and then not calling off the dogs. That is the mentality of teams that dominate. Today was not domination. It was a win against a team that will not win a game this season.

At no point was there any question we were winning that game. Between that and the stat line, I'd agree that we "dominated." Now I don't think it means jack squat for the rest of the season, but there is no reason why this win today was a negative.

Again ridiculous. There is no way literally or figuratively that today was a loss.
Lol.

Yup, we have moved on to my favorite part of the trainwrecked season. The redefining of the words win and loss.

Round 2 bonus? Questioning the fandom of those that don't agree with the new definitions.

Good times.

We dominated statistically with 513 to 342 yards and we had 312 yards on the ground, with two 100 yard performances. The turnovers and penalties kept us from winning by more than 13. I have no illusions this means we're going to win more than 4 games, but this was a good performance and not a "loss" as some total morons are saying.

I found our performance today pretty pathetic. I don't put it on the kids. They played hard today. Unfortunately, we are a very poorly coached team. Penalties and TOs scream lack of discipline. This isn't rocket science.

Give it up, numbers. It's 12 or more angry men tonight, and Flood is the battered spouse who is going to get beat on for every single little miscue. We have "fans" wanting us to lose so that Flood can be fired. Anything positive will be called out by the angry mob and mocked, and you will be called a Polyanna wearing scarlet glasses. This place is a miserable dumpster fire today.

Flood is a battered spouse? Really poor choice of words from someone talking about "class" in another thread.

People said the same thing when we barely beat Uconn in 2008 to go 2-5.

Actually, once again it was the playcalling and clock management that kept us from winning by more than 13.

You are going to be crying a river till the end of November if you can't enjoy this win. there is just nothing they can do that will make YOU happy. What you need is a new team to root for... some team that won't disappoint you by winning. win or lose, these young men deserve better fans than you

I am very happy we won today but have to laugh when people say dominate. Today was not domination and the game was one coaching or defensive brain fart from being in doubt. You can dominate a stat sheet and lose. So domination only really matters on the score board.

They can do plenty to make me happy. That is where you are incorrect. I don't see progress and that is frustrating, and I will not tolerate it. I will continue to voice displeasure to the administration in the hopes that they finally realize we care about athletics at RU.

Don't insult my fan hood.
