Did Wendell Lewis redshirt before this season?

I don't remember him redshirting before this year's MR. Does that mean he could possibly take a RS next season and come back the following year or is next season his last no matter what? I wonder if any player has faked a MR before. (not implying Lewis did this)

No he didn't but you can't "redshirt" once you play a one second of a season.

Medical redshirt is officially called a medical hardship or waiver and I think if you get hurt once you are past 25% of the season - you can't apply for the medical hardship.

Game #7 was his last one to play in. I think we play 31 games counting 1 game in SEC Tournament. Barely made it.

I'm surprised to see myself post this....

but I disagree. Borchert and Johnson are simply not athletic enough. We are getting dominated on the boards in conference play, and I'm not sure I see anyone coming in who can help us there. We have to get somebody on this team who can match other SEC team's big men athletically.

We're better of with a freshman than another year of Wendell. Ray still gets a pass next year anyway. Maybe he can find a JUCO or something.

We need him back just so we can have healthy bodies to practice against over the next 9 months

I think its safe to assume....

that Ray is making decisions based upon the best available players.

The rule is you have to play in less than 30% of your team's games and you can't play in any games in the 2nd half of your team's season. He's good for the medical redshirt (or hardship waiver).

Really? We'd be better off with a true freshman than a 5th year senior? On a team that will be very young either way? That's pretty retarded.

He could've made the difference last night.

We were close. At our best we can about halfway compete. Problem is we only play well when the other team is playing badly. We can't do anything but play better in the long run, but I'd like to see us man up better when the opponent makes a play. i sure hope our 2-0 start doesn't wind up being the total of our wins.
