I haven't heard anything by them since he died. Tough call.

ETA: Alice In Chains: Unplugged is one of the best CD's I've ever owned. Well worth picking up if you don't have it.

but time softens my resolve. The new guy doesn't compare to Layne, but he still sounds good and to me it's just great to have those guys putting out some music again. Cantrell's solo albums needed a better singer, and now he has one. I saw them twice last year and it was as close to authentic Alice as we'll ever see live again.

live in N.O. about a week after they found Stanley dead. They were taking up a collection plate for Stanley's family at the concert. I thought that was a good gesture.

Widespread isn't playing anywhere that weekend, which is probably the only band I would skip out on a football game to go watch.
