Trumpet, Matoaca is definitely going through a down period. But, they have decent size and a couple of good running backs. They have zero as a passing game. If they threw more than three times all game, I must not have been looking.

When you put that type of predictability on the field, you would have trouble moving the ball against an average defense. And as you know, Dinwiddie's defense is anything but average.

Matoaca would have scored on one kick off, had it not been for Robert Barlow. He used all 130 lbs to bring down the runner in traffic. Had he not made the tackle, there was no one else left.

Dinwiddie's effort was pretty typical. Even though Zyan and Peety get an at-a-boy, it was truly a team effort. Someone different was always stepping up, either making the play, or creating the chance for a teammate to make the play.

When Matoaca tried the sweep, the lead blocker was usually leveled by our first defender, often disrupting other blockers or the runner. The end result was usually a tackle for a loss. Tons of unselfish play like this.

Todd Anspach continued with his tremendous effort kicking and punting. His only mistake turned out to be a good thing. Matoaca punted to us and got a great punt and roll, down to our 2. On the second play from scrimmage, the backups couldn't give our #30 the protection to go forward, and he was tackled for a safety. On the ensuing free kick, Todd punted it off the side of his foot. The Matoaca player closest to the ball forgot it was a free ball, and Dinwiddie recovered. So Todd briefly went to the outhouse, but in 5 seconds he was back in the penthouse. We can laugh about it now.

We've got your parking space reserved for the homecoming game. I look forward to meeting you and your wife. You have Navy's and my phone numbers, so let us know what we can do to assist you when you make the trip.

Bleeding Navy did it again.

I showed up ahead of time to meet Navy at our pre-determined location. As usual, I had to wait for what seemed like hours. He he finally showed up, and we just barely had time to grab a bite and still get to the game on time. I got indigestion from eating so fast.

I think I might buy him a watch for Christmas that has an alarm feature.

Wow... This is simply GREAT!!! I knew that there would not be much info on the game being it was not billed as a big game. I usually start scouring the web for info around 7:30 every Friday night, looking for anything to feed my Dinwiddie Football fix. My wife already knows not to mess with me between 7:00 and 10:00. Thank you so much for this info. We are truly lookin forward to meeting you. My wife did no go to Dinwiddie but because she loves me, she bleeds blue as well. I cant remember if I mentioned the story of what happened last year at the Championship game, But I will attempt to add a pic and explain. It will show just how much of a fan she and I are. Again, thank you and we will see yall soon!!!!

Tell her this, I too never attended Dinwiddie Schools. I was born and educated in Petersburg. But cut me and I bleed nothing but blue.

My connection was simply that I feel in love with a Dinwiddie girl when I was only 15 and I became a "Dinwiddian". Bought a little place in the country in 73' and it's still home. I could live anywhere I want to, but I choose to live in Dinwiddie.

Send Navy a phone number and he can text you scores and updates during the games. If you use twitter, that's an excellent way to get real time info.

Under Bleeding Navy's guidance, our media presence is growing rapidly. I think he said we had 26 separate media outlets covering our Thomas Dale game.

LOL, yep, my wife just writes me off on Fridays in the fall. She knows that this is my passion, and she enjoys watching me be happy. She just hates the cold and the cowbells cause her severe ear pain, so she stays home.

I see your clerical collar. Tells us about your Church and your Ministry.

Yes... I am an ordained Reverend and the Children's Pastor at my church, Celebration Church In Columbia Maryland. While in Dinwiddie, I was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church in Darville. I also attended Big Bethel in McKenney. We still have a family home in McKenney. I was actually just down there last weekend doing some work. I come down from time to time. I would love hook up for lunch one day. As far as you being from Petersburg, ALL GOOD!!! lol. I attended Norfolk State and several of my best friends are from Petersburg. I just changed my pic. There is a wonderful story behind that. I will explain soon. I will send you my info via message.
