Dinwiddie v. Hanover?

The RTD said he is playing this week. I don't know if we asked for it Dan but at this point it don't matter we play who ever that's in front of us.
With a Hanover loss it will be:
1. Courtland 29.3 vs. 8. King George 22.6
4. Chancellor 28 vs. 5. Hanover 27.7
2. Monacan 28.6 vs. 7. Louisa 25.8
3. Eastern View 28.1 vs. 6. Dinwiddie 27
Hanover wins:
1. Hanover vs. 8. King George
4. Eastern View vs. 5. Chancellor
2. Courtland vs. 7. Louisa
3. Monacan vs. 6 Dinwiddie
A lot riding on Hanover vs. Henrico
Yeah, I'm confident no one in the program really cares who may be their opponent in the playoffs I'm also positive that everybody in the program is totally focused on this week. Meadowbrook is the real deal. Dinwiddie knows that a 100% effort is mandatory, as well as near error free football. And even that might not be enough. It took the new Meadowbrook coach a few games into the season to get the guys all pulling hard in the same direction. But he has.
Nobody has forgotten the wars we have been through with the Monarchs. And any of us that have been around awhile have not forgotten the butt whippings we absorbed over the years. Since 1999, we have only won 5 times in 16 match ups.
So believe, Hanover or no other team is on any bodies mind.

There is always the possiblity that King George defeats JM and changes the playoff order, how, I'm not really sure, but I'm sure if would change standings.
With many of these teams being within a tenth or two, and you have the rider points for 10 teams wins or loses this week, I think you can see some pretty wild swings.
I personally loved the straight up 16 team playoffs. The last two years we didn't speculate quite as much about first round seeding. #1 through #6 usually had pretty easy first round match ups. And only a couple of teams really we're occasionally worried or excited about making it in as #16. Or being #8 instead of #9 and getting a home game.
I know that's a little silly, but I liked it that way. And Good Lord, please don't let me get another thread going about the playoff system. My only point was to say that there was minimal scrutiny of the points near the end of the seasons the last two years, in the regions that qualified 16 teams.

I loved the 1-16 seeding and still believe we had the hardest 9 seed in history last year in Dinwiddie, but for the most part the seeds played out perfectly.
I get what you're saying but personally speaking I like the regional feel that we have this year with two 8-seed brackets. I think too it generates a lot more talk and that's always a good thing.
Not to pick on you, but this whole regional thing was driven by the schools up that way. Why do they sell themselves short just to have "regional" games. KF is a #3 seed in our bracket and probably a #9 seed overall in ratings. Just feels like the Richmond schools sold themselves short.
No hard feelings, I hardly feel like I've been picked on. I just think some of this is driven by travel time/expenses and perhaps even lown attendance early on in the playoffs for some schools. At least with more regional games, the hit in travel time/expenses isn't quite as bad and with less travel time more fans could be inclined to attend games.

I don't have the patience to run all the scenarios but if both Meadowbrook and Varina lose, I still think Meadowbrook is a lock. Now if Meadowbrook loses and Varina somehow stuns the state and beat Highland Springs, I think it is entirely possible the Blue Devils could leap the Monarchs.
I don't suspect anyone will want to leave anything to chance and I believe there will be some pretty hard fought games this Friday night.
For sure Danny. I know Mike and I agree that travel expenses are over used as an excuse or reason. But I do agree that fans will make a one hour or less trip more often than two hours to tidewater. But, because of the way the conferences are, you are still looking at a pretty good haul to get up to the new teams in the east. FYI, Louisa, Chancellor and Courtland are two hours for Dinwiddie fans.

It would be the biggest upset in the history of the series but I don't believe it will happen this year. Hard to believe the Springers will likely have three straight wins against Varina but that just goes to show how the balance of power in eastern Henrico has shifted.
Ouch, that's a haul. If, by some strange chance we hosted EV, as Mike shows above, how many fans do you think would make the trip to Dinwiddie? I have to be honest, on a Friday night, if the game was played up there, I don't think we would have more than 500 make the trip. And that may be a little high. A round two game would probably add 100 or so fans. If it was a round three game maybe 1000 fans make the trip.
At Dinwiddie, I'm confident we would have better than 3000 fans at any of these games.
DP, MBK has been playing lights out some nice the Hopewell game. They have taken advantage of their opponents mistakes and their defense has really turned it upside a notch. They also we m to be a tad more disciplined said ice the after game incident w/ Hopewell. Know the coach removed so me find ok the team and disciplined others. Good luck Friday night. Thanks. This really is exactly the game we need to find out if we are a capable playoff team. I'm glad we catch them at our house this year. For some teams, being at home makes little difference. I know for a fact that the kids hear the fans and it helps them. Plus, selfishly, I don't have to drive but 10 minutes instead of an hour!

I hope that Clayton is healthy, and not rushing back too soon. I'm sure his doctor must think so, but I still worry for him. He is a really great kid, I hear. With him healthy, they can make it to the inevitable game with Lake Taylor. I hope we get a second shot at them. It will be a hell of a game, for sure.

DP and Gen4ever may want another shot at Hanover in the first round, but I think I would prefer someone else. We made our bed, so we have to sleep in it. Would love to see how we stack up against the Battlefield. Need to win Friday night to keep things rolling. When we play defense we can beat just about anyone. Just haven't done it consistently. Yes, Cheatham is a beast and so is his backup. Should be some fun discussions next week.
EV would probably have the same DP 500 or less. I will say that when EV went to Jefferson forest past year they had just as my fans as forest and that was a Friday night. Anyone who comes to EV will enjoy the amenities of a nice stadium it's like a mini Louisa jungle with fireworks fog etc
Dinwiddie I think will have it hard this Friday. From tape I have seen MBK has good size on the "O" line and are physical, good speed in running backs, and Dinwiddie struggles with big line physical teams. The corners for Dinwiddie will have to step up also as MBK has tall receivers that can catch, the corners have to play discipline ball and not get caught looking in the backfield on play action and get beat deep. If the defense for Dinwiddie can play like they have the last 3 games they have a good chance to win.
Offensive side for Dinwiddie is all going to come down to the blocking of the line. Can they hold up and give QB Witt the time to throw the ball and open up the running lanes. MBK has 2 good D tackles and they get at it, they also have good corners with speed and can close ground quickly. Dinwiddie can not afford turnovers or empty redzone possessions.
As DinwiddieProud said its going to take 100% from all and both sides of the ball putting it all together. Mills will have them ready, the boys will just have to complete the job.

I'm rooting for Henrico because I like the matchups better if Hanover loses. Courtland-KG rematch and 3 540 vs 804 matchups. The bottom brackets would give two rematches EV-Chan, Courtland-Louisa with only 1 matchup between 540-804 teams.
If Henrico wins then EV hosts Dinwiddie and courtland hosts King George, chancellor would host Hanover
It hasn't been mentioned, but in free lance star it says Chancellor QB has broken ankle out for rest of season...
SMH...dang. He's easily the best QB in the Fredericksburg area. Thankfully he'll have another year.
that's a big loss from an offensive standpoint both running and passing but the backup did a more than adequate job last week. Chancellor won't make a deep run but no one should underestimate them. They'll win their first playoff game. After that, we'll see if they can surprise someone.
Next year they might be the favorite but I've seen the mist surprisingly things happen to teams that are "suppose" to be that good with all they have returning
Not so fast everyone. Hanover can win and still not be the #1 seed. For maximum points, they need Armstrong to beat Atlee, Varina to beat Highland Springs, and PH to beat Lee-Davis. If Courtland maximizes their points and wins, they get #1 seed by a point if none of the three results above occur. Meadowbrook beating Dinwiddie hurts the Hawks as well.
