At a relatives house for Thanksgiving festivities and they don't have ESPNU on their directv package. Does anyone know if you can upgrade from standard package to Choice and then downgrade after the game...does Directv charge any penalties for doing this. Thanks

I bought Showtime for a day to watch a Gina Carano fight a few years back. After the fight, I canceled Showtime, and did not receive any penalty. This is the best info I can offer.

I just updated to choice so we could get the game because I have family in town that want to watch while I'm at the game. Once you cut it off, there should not be a charge. If anything, they may prorate it for the day that you had it on. Shouldn't be much of a charge, if any at all.

Don't know about DirecTV, but Dish says they charge a penalty ($10, I think) for stopping something within 30 days of starting it, if I remember correctly. Chances are DTV is the same. I think they're catching on. But even if they do, it'd be worth it to see the game.
