I hope so. He needs a chance somewhere else. I could see him being a feature back or at least one of two in Pitt or Balt.

Not much cause the 9ers still have Gore, Hunter, L. James. Dixons role has been primarily SP teams and FB.

He can certainly add depth somewhere. I don't know how many more years Gore has left. Some have argued he's already sliding.

I don't think that's what he necessarily means. I think he is now an unrestricted free agent and is simply saying he doesn't know where he might end up. I hope he gets paid where ever he ends up though. I think AD is a good dude.

Been watching my old team every week since Harbaugh came. Without a doubt Gore has lost a ton of his upside this past year. He never was a burner obviously but he used to be more like Lynch, hell of a load to take down and had nice hole moves, now, not so much. Been a real disappointment in San Frans run game.

I think you're right. Lattimore was brought in to eventually take over Gore's snaps, so I don't see his recovery having much impact on Dixon at all. The only thing AD might lose would be his occasional goal line carry, but that's really not what the Niners kept signing him for in the first place.

As much as I love having him in the red and gold, I'd be really happy for him to get a shot as a feature back elsewhere, but I'm just afraid that's not going to happen. He had several chances earlier in his career in San Fran to show what he could do, and he was just never able show that spark that the top guys have. The man's a beast on on kick coverage, though.

WHOOOOAAAA... Dixon cannot be a feature back, but I think he could be apart of a one-two-punch like Bradshaw and Jacobs. Or part of a Shane Vareen/Steven Ridley/LaGarrette Blount tandem. I wouldn't give the ball to Dixon on 1st down or long yard situations, but he not only jumped 50 feet into the air for the TD yesterday but he bruised someone in doing so. He's an athletic guy.

The thing about AD is he has shown he's willing to do it all and get in whatever shape the coach wants him to be in. His value is in special teams, and everyone's always looking for a good one of those who can contribute elsewhere too.

how cool would it be to see him end up at Indy with Ballard ..... not sure how many years T Richardson has left on his contract but I know this is just wishful thinking to have an all MSU backfield

James Starks, yes. Eddie lacy, no. Those are entirely different players. Lacy could be the ROY.

Any time Dixon has been given a chance to prove himself he wasn't able to, which is why they've taken 3 more TB's in the draft since taking AD. I think he can be success and will be successful with another team that will line him up in a 2 back set next to a Matt Forte-type guy. He IS Michael Bush. I wouldn't call Bush a feature back, but I'd call him a solid back who gets the ball when it counts. Not feature.
