Frustrated with his role and frustrated with last season's 4-8 finish, Dixon considered leaving early for the NFL.

"I thought about it, because I know I can play with those dudes up there in the NFL," Dixon said. "That's my dream. That's where I want to be, so I thought about it. But once I put all the information together and did all my research, I didn't feel like it was the best decision for me. I needed to come back to school and get myself back in shape and make another run at this college football thing.

That just makes me laugh..

I think Dixon will be in tip top shape for the first time in his career and it's obvious he's on track by losing 20 pounds already. If anything Dixon will blossom under Mullen and the spread, he catches the ball extremely well and getting him in the one on one situation should be advantage Dixon and Msu.

about a certain Dontae Walker in the offseason before the 2002 season.

In other words, I am not holding my breath that Dixon will get it together.

second and probably the most important fact, Mullen will use Dixon's talent and it want be "Dixon up the middle every play". I also think if Dixon wants to play he will do things such as getting stronger, quicker and overall better shape, if he does this, he has the potential to be one of the better backs in the SEC. Just saying.

"if Dixon wants to play".

And so far, that has been a pretty spotty thing - even when the offense suited him more.

I'm not holding my breath on him all of a sudden figuring it out.

Yea, I really don't see Dixon being more than a 5th-7th round draft pick type of guy, and maybe even an undrafted free agent. He reminds me a lot of BenJarvus Green-Ellis. He's a solid RB, but I don't think he has the speed necessary to be a decent draft pick at RB, and I don't see him developing that speed overnight.

We'll see, but I don't think the NFL was a big option for him this past off-season.

A guy I work with went to the funeral of one of the people killed Sunday North of Carthage. The young man killed was the son of Terry High school football team Head Football Coach and Dixon and his brother were at the funeral home the night before the funeral. My friend said that Dixon looks like he has already lost 20 pound. He said that he appeared to be in really good shape. You never know with this being his last year and top that with new coach, new offense and a new way of thinking, he might really be motivated and this could be his best year.

Obourse this was second hand info so I will have to take his word for it.

you were stoned or drunk when you typed this butchery of the English language.

Oh, and after deciphering what you actually meant, you're even more of an idiot.

but I don't see him over coming his stutter step. Maybe the new formations will give him a few more open field chances. But with our line, I still see him trying to bounce to the outside.

I agree, he will be the guy that takes our records but if i got that many carries my fat *** could. The crazy thing is the numbers he SHOULD HAVE without his stutter step he developed. I just hope he grows some balls and stops that

I don't think he has the speed to be a NFL RB. However, I hope the best for him. His attitude and leadership could really help our team to a winning season next year. I think it's possible.
