I hope it works out for the best for everyone, but I gotta be honest here, he hasn't exactly killed it at Nebraska. Was his seat at all warm here? IDK the answer, but I would think (and that always gets me in trouble) it's at least possible, he could be getting out on his own terms (IE, before he is pressured to "win or else") and hitting the lottery at the same time. 139-97 at Nebraska, in the B1G no less, isn't exactly lighting the world on fire.

Doubt his seat is warm at all.....probably not even close. But I do agree, he has been "okay"....nothing more...nothing less. If he doesn't get a the Dodgers job I'm hoping him taking more control of the offense will make a difference.

Oh no, that means Eichorst has to hire another coach!

Shouldn't be very difficult.....if he wants to make it easy on himself just call up Will Bolt. Or if he wants to go with someone with Husker ties and zero coaching experience(Tom Osborne way)...Dan Johnson, Johnny Dorn, and maybe even Joba Chamberlain will be available.

One win in the NCAA tournament(over Binghamton) in 4 years is really not acceptable. I don't think he is in any danger of getting fired here, but for whatever reason it just isn't working out here for him. If he can succeed better at the MLB level, then more power to him. The only bad thing is that it's not really a good time to be looking for a new coach now(although Dave Van Horn was hired in December before his first season).

I'd be a little disappointed if it wasn't warm at all. Not saying him and SE should be having come to jesus talks or anything, but...if we're to the point that his overall record is deemed completely acceptable, and his seat wasn't warm at all, I'd be a little concerned. I had hoped for better when we hired him. No having said that, I don't really follow baseball recruiting much at all and for all I know he has a monster class coming of age this year and it will all come together. I ain't running him out of town, but he hasn't done nearly enough for me to think his seat wasn't at least a tiny bit warm. Curious what others who are closer to the situation think.

Dodgers are an unconventional bunch when it comes to front office and managerial jobs.

I could be wrong but I think I read where he promised his wife after his playing days were over they would move back to Nebraska to raise their family. I would be surprised if they offered it to him because of the presumed leader is already in the organization.
I hope he stays. We love Erstad!

Pretty sure he is not a top two choice but you never know what happens in baseball.
Kershaw is gone. LA's fan base is bad, their stadium antiquated ... Dodgers are in the shadow of the SF Giants organization. Not a premium job. Probably a ton of money though, that you can't argue with ...

Kershaw is signed through 2020. It was Greinke who opted out of his contract.

I would love to see Erstad land this job. He's good guy who's doing well enough to stay at NU a long time, but I don't see the program taking any big leaps under his direction.

Money money money is what the Dodgers have yet the more they spend they are no closer to a World Series
