Does anyone else find the Playoff Selection Committee Top 25 Poll silly?

What's the point? I don't care what they think now, just at the end and we know that the polls at the end of the season will not look anything like today or even next week.

It's all about generating hype for the playoffs. Just like the weekly BCS rankings were about generating hype for the BCS.

Common sense should not be applied

it prevents the gnashing of teeth.

Of which, much has been going on.

Om and MSU have upset the natural order of the universe, and THEY don't like it.

No way man. Fingers Cross - MSU is going to be #1 in the first ever CFB Playoff Poll. Pretty badass, IMO.

Why are they even bothering with 25? I mean I can see top 10, but 25?

Hell... If they want real hype, they should only give a top 4 and do their best to snub a team from the AP top four. Now THAT would be hype.

It's really a bad idea. They should just meet once after the CCGs and pick the top 4. Now, they're stuck having to make a detailed explanation when they change teams' rankings from week to week and piss everyone off. Fanbases are going to be mad if their teams fall in the rankings despite not losing.

It's the closest they're going to get to an expanded playoff until there's an expanded playoff. #5 in the final poll before the end of it's season knows it needs style points in its final game. Fair? No. But as fair as it's going to be. I also agree that it's not a good idea. Probably minimizes scrutiny though when #6 ____ is left off.

i hope they do something just completely stupid in order to cause drama....

like listing 4 big 10 schools as "the playoffs if they happened today".

that'd be funny.
