He wasn't cut though- it was his decision to leave.
I think a lot of it was to learn how to play catcher, a position that he has long been projected at but didn't play a whole lot in high school.
I wouldn't be shocked if he came back to MSU- although I wouldn't count on it either, and him playing at Meridian may benefit him in the long run because he will get a lot more playing time than he would have at State this year, which means he is going to get more on the job training, and he is also playing for Chris Curry, who was a darn good catcher at MSU, and played in the minors for quite awhile, and coached at Arkansas last year. If the NCAA would let us, Curry would be a great guy to add to our baseball staff. But we're already at- or actually over our limit.
