Our spring game offense reminded me of our Liberty Bowl win offense. We won the game. Our offense was bad last year, but we did move the ball a bit here and there and we had a strong running game. The same will be said about this year. We won't ever look like '96 Florida. But when you get better athletes in the program, Croom can run his **** and it'll look better. I hate to continue to beat the dead horse, but a lot of people really don't understand how abysmal our program was when he took over.
My best friend worked at Herrin Gear Chevrolet in Jackson a few years back. It was Jackie's last year and we were playing UT in Knoxville. One of the assistant coaches came in to get his car serviced. My buddy told him that he was a huge State fan and that it was a pleasure meeting him, yada yada. My buddy asked him about the UT game coming up in a few days and this coach basically opened up for whatever reason. He said that half the team hasn't come to practice in over 2 weeks, but they show up on gameday and some of them play. He said that it wasn't his call. Unreal.
If you have that **** happening in your program, especially at MSU, can you see the hell that Croom had to start with?
