I feel this made it look as if though there is a huge disconnect between the WH and the US intelligence community. I don't understand why Trump wouldn't either condemn Russian openly, or defer the question to a later date by saying something ambiguous ("we are looking into the matter" or "more information is still turning up, we will address this in time"). Or even just deflect to the goals of the summit ("it's important to realize the vital goals in front of us here at this crucial summit, we need to focus on going forward").
I don't need to agree with Trump, but I still want the US to at least project strength ahead of a summit like this. I didn't get strength and unity.....speech aside.....at the press conference I got the impression we are a nation at war with itself, without any real protection from our intelligence apparatus. Liberal bias?
