Does last nights game put Stoops in Jeopardy?

How long will the Oklahoma faithful put up with being runners up in the championship game? I think Fox reported last night in 9 seasons Stoops had played for 4 National Titles. So it begs the question, do the power brokers at Oklahoma think this is acceptable or will they demand more?

Think what is acceptable? He's won a NC and played for 3 more in 9 years. Are you really suggesting that someone would think he needs to be replaced? I think you're forgetting the football hell Stoops delivered them from.

It will make the Tubs firing look like one of the greatest coaching changes ever...

You do not replace a coach that has gone to the national championship game 4 out of 9 seasons. That would be one of the dumbest moves ever in the history of college football.

If OU were to fire Stoops, they would never get someone to take that job just for fear of job security. He brought them back from dismal performance in the Big 12 to winning a national title and playing in more. You do not fire him for that.

on one of the post game shows, the topic came up. I agree, they would be nuts, but hey I am continually amazed at some of the things that happen in college football.

My cable company recently added the NFL network to my HD lineup and it is 24-7 stupidniks. (Although it is sometimes cool to watch a replay of a game with all the time outs and **** cut out of them... 60 minutes of football in 60 minutes)

...fire Stoops after last night.

The rest of the nation's fanbases & boosters who are not psychos, however, would be pretty pleased with the job Stoops is doing one would think.

I DVR most everything I watch and skip through commercials, dubmass pregame, halftime, and postgame shows, etc. My average time for watching a football game is right at 2 hours. For example, last night I started watching the UF-OU game an hour and 15 minutes after it started. I watched the first half, then watched a set of a tennis match I had also DVRed, then watched the second half and still finished only about 10 minutes after the game was over. After you've done that for a while, you can't believe how long and boring it is to take 3-1/2 hours to watch a football game.

Edited to add that you do have to be careful doing this. I DVRed the Cotton Bowl and then made the mistake of going to the gym (foolishly not thinking about the fact they have about a thousand TVs there) during the game. I somehow managed to get on a treadmill far enough away from that game and managed to keep my eyes glued straight ahead for 30 minutes and get out of there without finding out how the game was going. It was a damn close call though.

How many BCS bowls has he been to in 9 years? I want to say it's 7 out of 9 years in a BCS game, and of course 4 national title games with 1 title.

The majority of programs in college football would love to go 1-3 in national title games.
