Does Mack Brown lose his job after this game if Iowa State hangs on?

I think this one finally does it if Texas loses to a 1-2 Iowa State squad like this. Texas looks awful... Could have another parking lot firing of a major college football coach.

I've heard texas was thinking about making Mack the AD, so I doubt it. Now I could see texas announcing Mack will step down at the end of the year and start the process of finding a coach.

It'll come down to the 4th quarter. Regardless he should be fired for losing to BYU and Ole Miss and allowing a horrible, horrible ISU team hang around and put up impressive stats.

Who was the genius who signed an 87 year old Mack Brown to a contract that runs through 2020?

Brown could have moved to AD a few a years ago, had they orchestrated it well. The atmosphere in Texas now is that he's used up all of his good will. Scapegoating coordinators for years, blaming everyone but himself, hiding behind Joe Jamail and Dodds. People have had enough.

When Darrell Royal died, it started the process. Now that Dodds is leaving, Brown is fresh out of friends. He does still have a lot of big money backers, but if he keeps shitting the bed, I don't think he gets another season, much less the AD job.

Dunno but the writing is on the wall when Earl Campbell says it's time

for a change.

Now change can be a broad term for a coach that has won a national championship for your school.

The AD stepping down was huge. There could be a big change across the board here in Austin.

After a Thursday night loss? Not enough panache for a Texas firin'

Halftime at the Red River Shootout? Now there's a firing with some sizzle! (plus they should be losing by about 40 to OU by then)

Mack is a dead man walking. But Texas won't fire him. He will "retire" at the end of the season.

I am genuinely pissed that I watched this entire GD game only to have it decided by a chicken **** officiating crew in the last minute. 17

Ames; Starkville of the Big12

Damn that was a 1980s Mississippi State style loss. 3 big penalties give A school you never beat the go ahead points. Then the bone head decision to run the ball with no timeouts. Fumble a pass. Poor poor ISU. I know your pain.

Yes. Just like if DM is on the hot seat and we lose to USM to start next year.

Sports radio has been bringing up Oliver Luck (AD @ West Virginia & Adndrews father) as the front runner for the Texas AD job. He is a Texas law school grad., has NFL managment and playing exp. and was Executive Officer of the Houston Sports Authority at one time.
