in airballs? I have never seen a player shoot as many as he does. Even free-throws.

and his guarded shots are too strong. It's all mental with him. Stans should look into a getting team shrink....oh, wait.

...fundamentals, or lack thereof. I'm not being overly-critical of Stewart because almost everyone who has ever played the game does this from time to time. It would never happen if guys squared up, focused on the rim, and followed through on every shot. But guys get caught up in the flow of the game and the feel of their jumper over fundamentals. That's what it looks like to me, anyway.

My opinion is that Stewart is misused. He has a pure jumpshot, but he's not very good at creating his own shot. They should be running him off screens and getting him a shot in rhythm.

he does a fall away jumper every shot. If you notice, he is jumping away from the basket on every shot. If it's contested, he is a lot of the times not getting enough on his shot.

he needs to be on the bench and not on the floor, until he figures it out- if that ever happens.

Until then he is a liability. It's like playing with four players on offense. Even defensive guys like Vincent and Walters would at least set screens and stuff like that on offense.

And I don't care about his defense or "leadership", I wouldn't exactly be inspired by my team leader jacking up air balls time and time again.

Plus, sitting him on the bench and having him be the 6th man, might help him, which in turn would help the team. A junior shooting guard should not be shooting the way he does. Heck, I bet Osby could hit about as many three's as Stewart has lately.

...about Stans developing players, it sure is clear that Stewart has regressed. He was good as a freshman when he was the fourth or fifth scoring option. Now that he has more responsibility to step up, he's unable to do it. He's got no business pulling up or shooting off the dribble...it's just not the kind of player he is. But I haven't been hard on him at all like so many others have, because the bottom line is that it really isn't his fault.

He isn't the player he was as a freshmen but it goes back to what you were saying about him being misused. His freshmen year when he was in the game, his job was to stay on the perimeter and wait for the pass and the set jump shot. Now he is trying to do too much and he is too slow to create a shot.

I have never seen a player miss the rim 3 times in a whole game before and Stew did it in just over 8 minutes of actual time on the floor in the second half , 2 complete airballs and one clunker off the backboard that didn't draw iron.
