Stoops is going NOWHERE until end of next season at the earliest. We will never pay an almost $18,000,000 buyout (including the assistants). Let's be realistic.
He's aware that it is on him to turn this thing around. And not only him, but it's on the players as well. Need a few of them to step up and assume leadership roles. Love what Jordan Jones said after the Florida game. Maybe he is one to take on a leadership role. The players need to be held accountable by Stoops and by themselves and if they don't want to be a part of this, get rid of them. Only way to even begin to turn this around is if everyone is in 100%.
Everyone is entitled to their opinion and nobody should begrudge anyone that. I choose to support Stoops and support the players...especially the players. They're 18-22 year olds playing a sport for our enjoyment. All this talk about "this player is garbage" and "that player sucks" is not fair and isn't necessary around here.
I liked the Stoops hire when it was made. A hell of a lot of people did. Certainly hasn't turned out how I wanted it to. And it's quite clear that he may not be the man for the job. But it's clear (to me, at least) that he isn't going anywhere any time soon and so I'll support him and this team until a REALISTIC option presents itself.
