1). We jump out to the big lead early, offense is clicking and moving well

2) Stoops goes to Dawson and tells him to go conservative and stop attacking for ball control and eat clock

3). Offenses loses the momentum and energy they had and can't get back in rhythm to answer UL

Sounds about right to me...told my son and friend at halftime the exact thing at half...wanted to bet my friend $20 that we wouldn't score ten pts second half and if we didn't we would get beat...said I was crazy...Stoops is in WAY OVER his head...

No coach in his right mind would stop doing something that is working without a cause.
They did not go conservative by choice. They were out of bullets for the reason stated above. When the defense knows you do not have a running game, they go all out to stop the pass. Barker, starting his second game, could not handle it. I don't believe Towles would have done any better in that situation.

The offense was not clicking the first half. We had two good drives. That's it.

I'm not sure what game you were watching, but the offense wasn't tearing it up in the first half either. The offense basically scored 10 points. The other points were either scored, or set up by the defense. Maybe it's because of youth, but this offense just isn't nearly as talented as many expected it to be going into the season. Receivers don't consistently catch the ball, quarter backs don't consistently make quality throws, and the offensive line can't consistently protect the quarter back and open holes for the running game. That combination is a nightmare for anyone trying to call plays and create any kind of momentum. Not that the play calling was consistently good either.

This all day! Our defense gave us a pic 6, gave us good field position on another pick. Gave offense the ball on the 25 yard line and could not get a field goal. No the offense didn't click. Had a couple long drives. Inept the remainder of the time
