Congrats Mike Teel although I played basketball and baseball with coach Tony Karcich's son. Is he still coaching?

Overrated over publicized high school kids. Uncomfortable even hearing about the kids from this event.

Jersey football is vastly overrated. This year in particular. Bosco got crushed by Bishop Gorman and most of the other parochial heavyweights got beat up by their good out of state competition.

Totally not true. BC, SJR and PC lost close games to IMG Academy. Teams in Florida will not play them. North Jersey teams don't back down from a challenge. Also Bishop Gorman is not a normal Parochial team either. Let's keep this real. We are better than most teams in this country.

So do yourself a favor and the next time I start a thread about NJ high school football....just ignore it.
No one wants to hear your uninformed twaddle and you'll feel less uncomfortable. Everybody wins.

Never questioned their toughness nor willingness to travel to play tough teams. Interesting that you point to three losses to prove ( my ) point. Was it St Peters that lost by 40 out in SoCal? has a Jersey team finished in Maxpreps Top 25 the last 2 years? I agree that Gorman has moved into a class of their own. They've beaten everybody the last two years and since everyone wants to go to Vegas they play a lot more of the tough ones at home.

Jersey teams, in particular Bosco, had a great stretch where they won WAY more games out of state than they lost. The talent has been spread more over the past two to three years between the north Jersey parochials, but there have been some great wins out of state.

Do you live in NJ? Polls are meaningless at times. I believe BC, Bosco, PC and SJR are 19-1 against the best teams in Ohio. SJR beat St. Edward's (OH) this year who was ranked #4 in the poll last week (and their only loss). My point about IMG is that they blow everyone out. SJR and PC had drives late in the game to win their games. BC played to a 59-47 shootout with a late IMG TD. IMG is essentially a junior college team (just like Gorman). As John indicated above, the talent has been spread out since DePaul and PC now play these teams as well, but we hold our own.

Look at the players Rutgers has from Bosco and SJR. Everyone is a big contributor. I can't think of any that were not. We need more from these programs because they are great.

Donnie Bosco QB Tom DeVito via Cedar Grove, had a big game, and is on RU radar. Only 6'1". Could be a factor. Mike Teel has helped his progress.

the problem with top 25 is that 5 perennial top teams need to play each other as well as ooc. undefeated is a think of the past.
Bosco beat the best team, maybe, in Pennsylvania, the best team in Lousiana, and a damned good Ohio team. Bishop Gorman is very, very good.

Then a rare very down year for Petes

Huh? Most years, top tier NJ high schools crush ranked out of state teams. Check the facts.
