And yet, both 5-7.
correct, but never had a lead on a team that was a favorite to win a game and had to go to OT to win. I'm not sure we even had a lead in a game we weren't the favorite in. That was as bad as the Croom years, but mostly because we all new the talent was there and we were asking the players to do something they had no experience in doing.

But but but. Fact remains. As bad as Arnett was, in 2 years Lebby hasn’t done any better.

and that is a fact. but what also is a fact the Admin knew there was no way Arnett and company could put a better quality product on the field in year 2 than the previous year. i guess they thought Lebby could and i'd be willing to bet they think he can do even better in year 3. we have to wait and see if that is the case though.

i really do not see Arnett winning a single game in 2024.

I’ve got no problem with firing Arnett. Should have never hired him to begin with. But if you’re going to replace him with Jeff freaking Lebby, you may as well have just kept him.

He’s also 8-2…. I’d personally buy Dan a new pair of shorts for every game if he’d come roam our sidelines again.
Look who he has beaten. As of last week he had beaten zero teams with a winning record, and came close to losing to a couple of bad teams.

When Arnett played the team who would finish ranked #11, he took them to overtime and won.

Dan isn’t coming because he’s smart enough to know State is going to be last in the sec in nil. Money is all that matters now.

I disagree, i still think lebby has potential and can figure it out. I do not think Arnett had/has that ability. whether you think it will or should be here i do think he will be successful somewhere.

This one. Exciting game, and Arnett dropped a "f-bomb" in the post-game interview.

(Also yes, Arnett sucked and we were pretty lucky to win this one.)

Of course the year before they beat exactly one team with a winning record based in what I see and that was San Jose at 7-6. Before Odom turned it around in 23, they were losing to over 50% of their games to teams with losing records based on what I saw.

So to me, at least for UNLV standards that Odom and Don both have done pretty well out there.

The thing about Don is, is that he isn’t an unknown like Sunbelt Billy as to whether he can win in the P4 or even at a more “challenging” P4 school. He has proven he can.

You’re right, he sucks
Did I say he sucked? No, I said pump-the-brakes. There's a lot of people on here gushing over the guy for where he has UNLV. I'm pointing out you have to consider the opposition.

Don't forget, JoMo had a stellar record at Fordham. I'm in no way suggesting JM is on the same level as DM, just saying using his record at UNLV is fool's gold.

I am not really seeing Dan’s name thrown around. Could see him coming home next year.
Does he still have his house in Starkville? I'd think selling a several million dollar house would be a little difficult. Or do they just pass from HC to HC?

Nah, I think most people are gushing over him for what he actually accomplished over a decade at Mississippi State.

Yeah, I count at least 6 posts specifically referencing his performance as HC at UNLV. At no point did I make mention of the ones who want him back for what he did at MSU. You just didn't actually grasp what I posted. Not sure why, because it was pretty simple to grasp and was completely factual.

But that's a "you" problem, not a "me" problem.

Carry on.

If Mullen had never coached here, do you really think people would be posting about hiring a guy with 1 season at UNLV? Sure this thread was started about what he’s doing at UNLV but people want him back because of his time at state.

You seem to be obsessed with straw-man arguments. Nothing in your last post disproves anything I posted. You just can't admit you were wrong about what I posted. You argue against things I didn't say.

That's fine. Don't need your affirmation.
