It is with me and many others. I can't understand how any would not like it.
I'm with you. But i can understand people not liking it a. Because they are focused on instant gratification and b. they have been conditioned to hate trump as the top priority. if they just hate trump harder that means they are more virtuous.

The fact that we have NATO finally paying their way for their own defense. Denmark ponying up to beef up defense of the Arctic ( all the Greenland hoopla was just to set the negotiating table). Have South Korea and Japan starting to beef up military spending. Australia as well...buying/building nuke subs !!! Securing the border- Huge. Deporting illegals - Huge. Curtailing the USAID shennanigans and funding of NGOs for B.S. that should not be funded with public money. Resetting global trade. Kneecapping Iran's nuke weapons program. etc. etc.

So you are saying that you are disappointed in Trump performance and will vote for dem in midterms knowing what they did for 4 years and historically do when in control if he can't bring prices down to your satisfaction? Do you realize how hard it is to bring prices down after a new standard has been set?

Trump has stabilized some food prices. More to come.

Trump has shut the border and is deporting illegals. That should incrementally help bring prices down with less demand.

Trump locked in the middle class tax cuts that would have expired at the end of this year.

Trump has significantly facilitated lower gas prices that help the vast majority of the population.

I can't see how anyone with a brain would think the dems with what they do can come close to getting near the Trump performance level.

Let's stay logical in all this thinking.
Look, I understand all that. But IMO, the balance has shifted since the last year. When my wife who isn't a far right nut, but an avid Trump supporter, looks at TV reports and say "Trump need to ease back on all this foreign stuff and concentrate on the problems at home", that tells me Trump needs to concentrate on things at home.

Politics is what have you done for me lately game.

I think you and tiger growls might be missing my point. Let me try again. Trump needs a republican house and Senate to complete his agenda. There is an election in 2026. Republican representatives/senators are not going to get reelected on NATO, bombing Iran or any of those things. In fact, they might not even be discussed in campaigns.

The issues in 2026 are going to be housing, healthcare, affordability, maybe immigration and democrats are doing better - at least in my wife's mind - than are republicans. Voters vote their pocketbook and just because you are doing better, doesn't mean everyone else is.

Just my opinion. Don't want @tigres88 to think I'm speaking for every voter

This is one big miss by conservatives, and while I understand the left is as swayed by propaganda and are in their echo chambers as much as the right, this is a miss.

Trump has been hated, seen as a liar, grifter, and a terrible person since the 80's. He's THE villain of most 90's movies (Biff in the back to the future II is literally supposed to be trump in the future), and his nepotism, cheating, lying, and philandering has been hated for decades.

People aren't "conditioned" to hate him. He's just simply a bad dude, and always has been, and the majority of Americans have never wanted him to be President, and hate that he is. There is no conditioning, its just that he's the symbol of greed, lies, nepotism, and debauchery and people don't want that as president.

His actions as president have only solidified that belief.

Just my opinion. Don't want @tigres88 to think I'm speaking for every voter

Thanks for thinking of me bb 😘

Maybe i misread. I understand your point.

I understand that people have different focus. I also am not disagreeing with you. Trump needs to shift to start winning over the me, me, right now people and those who are emo forward even though he is over the target on all the big stuff that really will make a lasting difference.

You may disagree, but I believe that the big picuture focus that trump has had will do more good in the long run for everyone than 1/2 of the country is giving him credit for. There is more than enough prosperity to go around if we only would focus. We could / should have the best schools the best highways the best rail system, better mental health care for those that reallyt need it etc, but we can't do that with relatively small number of american taxpayers not only paying for the majority of americans to live, but also paying for the defense of the world, importing people who are are a net drain on resources, sending $$$$$ everywhere for questionable/ no benifit to US Citizens etc.

edit: My wife is of the same mindset. Gotta change the direction of the ocean liner, which is tough to do when a lot of the crew are fighting against you. Once the ship gets on a correct course a lot of issues will start resolving.

I think that Trump has until the end of this year before he needs to make winning midterms his top priority.

I don't disagree with anything you posted. But policies runs in 2 years cycles.

If I were Trump advisor, I would have him start work now on some form of a comprehensive immigration plan: an ACA upgrade - not a repeal and replace - keep the good and better the bad: a plan for housing, something like a backing for developer/building loans, government supported home loans, something to get mortgage rates below 6%, maybe a 40 year mortgage or something: a plan for lowering grocery prices. I don't know how you do that, but maybe someone smarter than I on farm/distribution methods might add some ideas,

That would be more than enough for the next year.

Well I will agree that he has focused more on international issues than I thought he would but I dont think he is doing it at the expense of neglecting his domestic agenda. He could do a lot more if not for the rino's infesting congress imo. He has already done more than Kamala would of done domestically. Our tax rates would be going up January 1st without the BBB and gas would still be high and no telling what would be the state of inflation. You think Harris would of done anything to help? Remember over 95% of media coverage on Trump is negative.

Someone isn't playing with a full deck!!

Jenna Amatulli of The Guardian noted that “[t]he bizarre series of posts could raise further questions on Trump’s mental acuity.” More questions arose yesterday after Trump spoke before the America Business Forum saying: “For generations Miami has been a haven for those fleeing communist tyranny in South Africa. I mean, if you take a look at what’s going on in parts of South Africa. Look at South Africa, what’s going on. Look at South America, what’s going on. You know, I’m not going there. We have a G20 meeting in South Africa.”

It's JMO, but the prices of groceries have not gone down, and you know the rest. Voters are fickle and if we've learned anything the economy and healthcare are going to drive elections in 2026

A cub scout running the military!!
he's not totally wrong. A major problem with our system is that the operators develope requirements and pass it to the procurers to buy. Things go on so long that over time, requirements change. Then comes the change orders. that drives up the cost and extends the delivery time. If you've never seen it, watch "the Pentagon Wars" a satire about the army's purchase of the Bradley fighting vehicle.

One other thing that folks overlook. When the military buys things they don't buy off the shelf or even today's technology. What they buy - major weapons systems - doesn't exist today. It has to be developed and nobody knows what it will cost in that process.

Hegseth is right though in that you don't need a $1million missile to shoot down a $15.95 drone

And, Hegseth didn't come up with this concept on his own. There's an entire procurement bureaucracy in the DoD and each of the services that have been calling for reforms for decades.

JUST IN: President Trump is going ALL-IN on the price of meat, saying there appears to be FOUL PLAY 👀

“While Cattle Prices have dropped substantially, the price of Boxed Beef has gone up — Therefore, you know that something is “fishy.” We will get to the bottom of it very quickly. If there is criminality, those people responsible will pay a steep price!”

This is important! Glad he’s focusing on it!

@ Aldi Eggs were almost $5 last year and are 1.96 right now. Milk was 2.46 today. I don't remember when it was significantly below $3 I have noticed some "deals" on hard goods as well. Beef is through the roof. Drumsticks are going for 1.09/lb

Now in Nov 2020 eggs were $.88 but I doubt we see prices go back to 2020 levels because people got "inflation" raises. But its been my experience that lots of the staple have seen a reduction in price.

Is beef being exploited because of supply and disease? I do not know but eggs were inflated because of the inflation and government overreaction to the bird flu.

makes me happier, But you're missing my point. The cost of living has been increasing, nobody can argue that .And, to the voter they don't care who's fault it is. And the voter doesn't care if cost of eggs is going down or gas is below $3.00.

I have kids just starting out. I listen to them. and like most people their age (and I was the same way starting out) they look at their income and expenses each month. We always taught ours to "pay himself first" and then budget the rest. So here's their deal. They get their income and after looking at their budget, rent, food, internet, heat, healthcare, car insurance, car payment and student loans (mine don't have these) etc and there's not enough to meet expenses much less pay themselves. It's not a micro issue. It's a bottom line issue. And you're arguing the micro - item by item basis.

Trump got elected in part because of the cost of living. He promised to reduce prices on day 1. He didn't - and yes, I know that was hyperbole - but that was his promise.

I get it, you'll vote for Trump or Vance or whoever has an "R" next to their name in the next presidential election, but those my kid's age won't. Mamdani hit on the issue most important to the voters right now "affordability", and guess what, that issue belongs to the democrats, because it's a negative in voter's minds and Trump owns it.

You can disagree, but until the economy gets to a point where you can pay yourself first, and your income exceeds your expenses on a monthly basis republicans, the party in power, will be the ones voters hold responsible. Again, just my opinion.

Ned it's up to us elders to educate our young ones. Under the scenario you mentioned the incumbents will just get voted out almost every election. Trump didn't create this cluster mess on cost of living. It's on the dems squarely. The young people need to pay attention and learn basic economics. My kids are having the same problem on getting in that first house and all the associated increase but they are not blaming Donald Trump at all.

Great story.

Presidential pardon. Trump Pardons Cheyenne Diesel Delete Mechanic Troy Lake.

President Donald Trump pardoned Troy Lake on Friday. The 65-year-old Wyoming diesel mechanic spent seven months in federal prison for tweaking and removing emissions systems on ailing engines. When he got the news, he wept.

What a story out of Wyoming!

“Calling to tell him tonight that he’d been pardoned by President Trump was a truly joyous moment, and I am grateful to President Trump for standing up for those wronged by the Biden administration’s weaponization against working Americans,” said Lummis in a Friday text statement sent via her senior communications adviser.

That was a reference to the fact that, though the Lakes’ shop was raided by EPA investigators in 2018 under the first Trump administration, the case did not turn into a criminal prosecution until Biden’s presidency.
She said she’s grateful for the pardon, and said Lake was targeted “simply for keeping diesel engines in school buses, ambulances, and fire trucks running in our tough Western weather.”

This case, said Lummis “is yet another example of how federal agencies have been weaponized by Democrat administrations against hardworking Americans. I’ll continue fighting to ensure this kind of government abuse never happens again.”

Yeah, truly heartwarming. Just like all of Trump's pardons. He and the people he pardons have one thing in common. They're all crooks.

Like the guy in the story linked below, who just received a grant of clemency from Trump. He is a licensed pharmacist who pleaded guilty to health care fraud and distributing a misbranded drug, in this case kidney medications, some of which came from China, that were not approved for the purpose by the Food and Drug Administration. He also happens to be the husband of a Tennessee congresswoman who is a big MAGA/StoptheSteal proponent. Now he can go back to selling misbranded and unapproved Chinese kidney medications at a big markup. What could possibly be wrong with that?
