Players are overhyped. They all have severe weaknesses.

It's been this way since he's been here. We were just so happy to be back his first two years to see his shortcomings and then AD and crew bought him a golden ticket. Cal can't coach his way out of a wet paper bag.

It's no surprise our teams have played better in games he gets thrown out of.

Dude, we're all mad, just forget it. We can't be great every year. No of us have ANY idea if this team's struggles get owned by the players or Cal.

So what did he do at Memphis and UMass without top classes year after year?

Cal CAN coach! Idk if you were alive or coherent when he took pathetic umass to final four. His problem is that he relies too heavily on freshman. Gotta retain and even make some players but saying he can't coach is laughable for a guy to go to final four with three teams

That's on Calipari.

Your blame produces nothing. He's the best coach in college basketball overall to have right now. Try being productive with your time and thoughts. Expecting to have a perfect year every year is impossible. Use some common sense.

please tell me a coach that is going to come here and go to a final four 4 of his 7 years and a national championship.

Seriously, I'm trying to bite my lip on this because I know how I was during the Tubby years, but damn...you guys giving up and wanting a change have lost all perspective.

It's not cal per se. Is that we play freshman that have no awareness of what it takes to win in college basketball.
Then it is on Cal, he recruits the 1 and dones. Needs to change his recruiting philiosophy, and get less 5* players, more players like Cauley-Stein, who stay 3 years, and play well.

I don't give a damn what he did there. He obviously isn't doing that here.

We've only been truely great in 3 of Cal's 8 years here and it took absolutely stacked rosters to get there. We've had 2 good years and now 3 bad ones.

Save the final four crap. We don't play to make the semi finals. We play to win titles. Cal is overrated. This is coming from a guy that wanted Cal badly and worshiped him at one point.

Look at what we have seen since our title. What makes you think he's a good coach in any of that?

He had "glue" guys that could execute. Part of being a coach is putting a roster together and not just the best athletes you can grab year in and year out.

But if you are a good talent but not elite, why would you come to UK? It is obvious that the chosen players can do what they want with little to no repercussions. If you are not the next group trying to be moved to the NBA, you will be yanked quickly will not in the 7 man rotation and recruited over.

I look at this a little differently. I think it makes what he's done here even more impressive. It's very hard to bring in one year players and have the right mix. For the most part, it's worked well. This team's pieces just don't fit, and the bball IQ isn't very high. Bad combination. Cal can coach, but there are too many gaps to fill with this team.

The 2010-2011 team didn't light it up in the regular season and I remember seeing threads similar to this. That team went on to a final 4. The 2013-2014 team finished the season with 11 loses but were runners up for the championship, yet prior to the tournament there were threads similar to this. Point is, take a note from history and shut the hell up until March. I'm in the camp with those who say that Cal isn't the best X's and O's coach, but I also know the mans history. His teams tend to click in March when it matter the most. I doubt anyone is really going to be done with him if this team does what those two aforementioned teams did. Have a little bit of perspective.
