I know that he doesn’t have a ton of experience nor accomplishments, but I would give the job to Jai Lucas. The dude is young, can recruit, experienced in blue blood and top P5 programs, and has coaching in his blood.
A coach isn’t going to get fired for struggling to recruit. I understand people are upset right now but I’ve never in my life heard of a coach getting fired for that. He’s going to get a third season and we’re just going to have to watch it play out.
Unfortunately, with Barnhart's golden parachute, UK doesn't have the towel budget to handle the amount of sweat generated by Pearl.
I'm also not convinced Billy Donovan would kill it in the college game right now.
All that is to say, we're due for another year of misery before the purge happens.
Why is everyone so hung up on Billy D ???? Yes he won in college. College is totally different now. And the biggest reason i do not want Billy D here is history. Histrory shows that in all of the years of college basketball. Only 1 has won the NCAA Championship at 2 different schools. And he got one of those taken away from him. So i will go with history. I do not want any coach that has won the championship at another school to be the head coach here.
I get it if you don’t want Donovan but to go a step further and say you don’t want a NC coach, well that is for sure an interesting take.
I would rather have a coach that hasn't won the chapionship. Someone hungry to win.

He would probably be in Lexington by 9pm if we offered right now lol. He's retired but you know he wants a crack at our job or another blue blood like Kansas . Not having a ring will torment a competitor like that.
That's a valid point but it would be newsworthy and probably historical somewhere in history for a father and son to compete in the same conference. I think Pearl might relish that scenario. Pitino and his kid seemed to have no issues .
Yes will be like the Hindenburg going down. Might create a good drinking game for all of us though .
Good point but I would still take Hurley in a perfect scenario. He's a jack*ss but he wins and can recruit.
