Vs. Ecuador.

He did a lot to take the USMNT to international prominence. It's time for him to go, but he should have been able to go out at the World Cup. They could have used him for 20 mins. here or there.

Can't wait to see who will be the next Donovan.

If I can find it I will be watching, but there just wasn't room for him on the squad for the WC. I liked every move Klinsmann made. Would've been nice for him to go out there but didn't work out.

Wouldn't have made a big difference this summer. Jozy getting hurt killed us though.

Still, he's up there with Dempsey and Howard as the greatest US soccer players ever. I've never been in absolute euphoria like I was with his last minute goal vs. Algeria in the 2010 WC.

Really? I thought Brad Davis was the worst player on the field against Germany. In hindsight, I would have much rather Landon gotten that spot.

Most of the hand-wringing ahead of time was about Julian Green taking his spot, but since that decision caused us to now have a 19yo attacker with the experience of scoring in a WC knockout game, you can't argue with that one.

Got to watch Donovon several times live and what a great player for the US and our program. He did a lot not only for our National team but soccer in general in the US. This is a great way for him to go out and the right way. Three cheers for Donovon !!!

Klinsmann is a 17'n idiot..... You're allowed 12 subs and LD doesn't make the grade? Guess its a great move as long as Josey Altidore stays healthy, otherwise you look like a complete dumbass.
