everyone with a modicum of football IQ knew this guy had no potential at HC over 3 years ago.

yet, clown after clown lined up to support him.

whether they are morons, trolls, holgorsons does not matter to me. they ought to be shamed.

The only problem Holgerson has is the inability to get a quarterback and some really boneheaded play calls. You seem to be way out of your mind. Maybe lay off the sauce a little.

Of course this hire rest on Luck and only Luck. There is nothing about being a fanboy keeping Dana around either. The University makes the call on whether he stays or goes and the fans impact that through concerted mass efforts, not the small percentage that whine on message boards. A typical stint as a coach to prove yourself is 5 years, Dana has had that and has proven he does not have the skillset we need and expect. Some will say he had 4 years, but Dana is not showing any improvement and neither does the teams he puts on the field; if anything, this years team may end up being his worst yet.

No one is a clown for having supported Dana, it is what every fan does, but it is foolish to think that continued support for him is wise. Dana's evaluation is filled out and he lacks what we need. Let him finish this season and hand him his walking papers.

We been thru heell and back in this conf. but we keep it interesting. Ku can't hold their ball sak.

My opinion is who is going to come here? Dana's recruiting in not good enough for the caliber of talent WVU faces on a weekly basis in this conference. You think some of the instate kids he is taking are good enough to beat Baylor? Nehlen and RR could recruit QBs. Dana can not. Why? Also, when is WVU going to be able to field a defense that can play in this conference? It has not happened yet. I never bought into the hype because they never did anything last year and it is the same group. Next year will even be a greener group with less talent. I'm not seeing any progression being made.

You haven't seen the progression we've been making at losing?

I do like the 2015 WVU football team and think Dana is getting better at his job, but make no mistake their have been signs in the past that should have raised "red flags" to our fan base that Dana was going to struggle as a Head Coach. A lot of our fans seemed to overlook those "red flags" for one reason or another.

that was dana's first year, five years ago. but even that first year he had inexplicable losses, considering the monster roster that bill stewart handed him

my op clearly stated over 3 years ago, dopey.

Fans ( more like trolls ) who want the coach fired after every loss are the board's real clowns. After 4 years of the same old same old, you would think that they would realize that no one is paying any attention to any of their catcalls.

Well, he did do something positive...
and why did you want the old D coaches fired, because after that Dana went on to hire some real winners, and gave WVU football ball the highest turnover in staff in the country since. shoot, we had a new DC three years straight. Is that quality coaching?

The full game prevent would have been shredded by the Big 12 qbs. It worked decently, every five years or so, against the typically anemic offenses in the Big East, but you can't "play not to lose" in the Big 12.

I didn't like that he hired his drinkin' buddy to be the worst defensive coordinator in the history of football, but a change did need to be made. I'm no Dana fan, but I would take Gibson over Casteel any day...

I like Gibby as well but we saw some of the worst defense in the history of WVU for several years. I would have kept Casteel over that trash we had any day of the week. Dana needed to be fired just for hiring Joe DeForest as DC and at some schools being fired for that moved would have taken place. Dana is very lucky Ollie was here covering for him. As I have said in another thread the "red flags" that Dana was not ready to be a Head Coach were right in front of the fan base and most turned a blind eye.

Blame needs to go to the true culprits--those running recruits and coaches away left and right, night and day.

Schools like WVU need stability to have success--the only continuous situation over the past five years has been haters trying to destroy WVU and doing everything that they can to get in the way of success.

So far this season WVU has three wins, an overtime loss to an undefeated top 20 team, and losses on the road to a top 15 program and top four program. Lots of football left. Its a shame Mountaineer fans are allowing non fans to destroy the program.
