1/1/09 matchup was S Carolina and Iowa and that is who is projected there now. They may not want a rematch so soon. If SC loses to Auburn they will be 9-4 and ranked probably only a few spots ahead of us. Right now they are #18 and we are #22. They have also been to the Outback 3 times in the past 10 years. SC to Peach & MSU to Outback makes sense if the Outback wants new blood. We have always traveled exceptionally well. Do not underestimate how rabid our fan base is. We would pack either venue.

Iowa's front 7 is very good. Not a good match up for us. "They are a slow big 10 team," I'm sure people are thinking. We'll I haven't looked at the stats, but I bet they are pretty good against the run.

on the road. If we played well, we'd win. However, they also beat Michigan State badly at home.

The Southeastern Conference has nine bowl tie-ins (ten if 2 BCS)

* #1 & 2 Bowl Championship Series. (I assume a little here)
* #3 The Capital One Bowl must select the team with the best overall record among non-BCS playing SEC teams, or a team within one game
* #4 & 5 The Cotton Bowl Classic has first pick of remaining teams from the Western Division, and the Outback Bowl typically picks a Eastern Team

Teams ahead of us in standings: Auburn, South Carolina, Arkansas, LSU, and Bama. Which one of these does State move ahead? We lost to all but South Carolina and the Outback has traditionally picked Eastern teams.

Just saying, it will probably be Peach but may be the Gator which are next two in line.

Oh, Dixon is in the game for garbage time.

Have an Uncle and three cousins who graduated from there. Another cousin, who's a painter, who painted the floor of Carver-Hawkeye Arena. Only went to one game up there, but it was a doozy- 1985, #1 Iowa vs. #2 Michigan, Jim Harbaugh was the Meatchicken QB. Iowa won on a last second field goal 12-10.
