OWH just released a "Breaking News" that Williams is expected to join the staff and that a source had confirmed to the World-Herald that the move was expected.

It should say, Breaking News, Internet Rumors are true.........

Until I receive unsubstantiated reports from Duncan aviation and the local cable company, I'm going to remain a skeptic.
Or from someone whose dental hygienist has a cousin in the athletic department. That's how we got the rock-solid info about Jim Tressel and head-coach-in-waiting Scott Frost coming to NU as a package deal.

There is no sweeter sound than this, to this sick Husker fan on a cold Friday night.
I flew cross country the first week in Nov and got a cold the next week. It wasn't a bad cold, just slight headache, runny nose, cough, and general run down feeling. That sucker persisted for three weeks and I finally got better around Thanksgiving. I'm not sure if it was a persistent cold, or maybe I got two different strains back-to-back, Or..maybe at fifty-something I just don't recover as fast. Anyway, I hope your recovery is shorter than mine.

"After signing day in 2015, Sports Illustrated named Williams one of the 10 best recruiters nationally, and 247Sports twice named him the top recruiter in the Mountain West Conference during his time at San Jose State.

Among his current recruits at Arizona are four-star athlete Greg Johnson and four-star running back Nathan Tilford, both from California and both Nebraska targets."

Riley ain't messing around on fixing his staff. I think he is fully aware now he has to fix the Jimmy and Joes equation especially given how physical the B1G is.

A lot of pressure on this guy to deliver in the 2017 class. It'll be an interesting seven weeks leading up to signing day.

At a minimum I think he'll deliver a class RB and a couple good gets in the secondary.

I really think we land Greg Johnson

If the O & D coordinators schemes aren't winning with slightly average D1 players (maybe they need more time to coach them up?), Riley better damn well get some better players that will win with those schemes.

If they can't recruit better players, Riley would have to make changes to those coordinator positions and (although he has made changes to non-coordinator positions) I don't see him doing that next year unless Langs' O falls flat on its face with a pass-first QB or Banker's D allows 40 points a game.

DW (not Darkwing duck) needs to get some 4 and 5 star recruits to commit in this class. Looking at the top 20 list of team rankings, we are short on the 4 star players (if rankings actually mean the player is going to be better) verse those teams.

With 8 or so spots left in this class, we better plan for a busy month of commits in mid to late January after the dead period ends. Hopefully they are some high quality guys that will make a difference.

If DW can recruit like he is being praised for, then get his butt in the classroom to learn about Nebraska for a couple hours and get his *** to work!

Hell, put KW and DW together in the same house with these kids and get some commits before the dead period even begins!

GBR!!

Johnson as the RB or are you thinking Tilford?

I don't believe Williams was the lead recruiter on tilford so I'm not sure how inclined he is to look around.

Since we seem to have a good shot at drawing the interest of a number of top corners and not many slots, I think they talk to johnson about being a RB or telling him to just get on campus and we'll try him out at a number of spots

I am more long term folks, if he is able to flip some players great but get your head straight this is a 3-4 yr move for us. I do believe he will have an impact in this class but some of you are expecting a lot. His relationships for 18 class will probably provide more fruit.

I thought I saw that he was the lead recruiter for Tilford. I would love to have Johnson at RB too (or anywhere), but I know Williams was recruiting him to play CB at Arizona.

Bingo. All these moves are for the future. Sure, you want impact now, but long term having more strong recruiters helps to rebuild the program from the ashes.
