I might be nostalgic but I’m incredibly proud of Quincy for earning his degree after all these years. He’ll be walking in the ceremony on Saturday. Hopefully someone will pass him a ball when he’s right around the three point line 😉

This is terrific. Douby stuck a dagger in my heart a couple times, but he's always been a pretty easy guy to root for. There was a time when I thought he'd be a Pirate; it seemed to be the prevalent opinion for a time. But nonetheless, this is a great coda to his Rutgers career.

We had Douby and Ray Rice at the same time. The two most talented players we’ve had in their respective sports (since I’ve been watching) that inspired hope.

Quincy Douby is a smart guy! I’m sure his family and folks close to him couldn’t be prouder. I’m sure he’s surrounded by good people.

This is a great story for so many reasons. I’m glad that Quincy is now officially a Scarlet Knight. Congratulations to him and the Rutgers support system for making his dream come true.

Congratulations to Quincy. He was sensational!!! He led the Big East in scoring at over 25 ppg and if he had returned for his senior year he would probably have been the highest scorer in RU history. He was also a first round draft pick. I still remember the Quincy Douby song. It was kind of a catchy tune.

Rutgers basketball legend Quincy Douby made countless shots and helped the Scarlet Knights to many key victories at Jersey Mike’s Arena from 2003-06, but his most significant win at the arena may come Saturday when the 38-year-old father of five crosses the stage to receive his diploma.

Uhh shouldn't they have to win something to have their number retired?
Uhh should I call Davidson to unretire Steph’s number? Uhh how about Indiana St and that runner Bird, pull that one down.

What kind of fan are you? You seem to hate anything positive associated with RU. Retiring a number is recognition of our most outstanding basketball players - if you don’t think our only first round pick in generations who was an All-American and led the BE in scoring is worthy, then you’re just trying to be miserable.

Imagine if he got his eligibility back while taking classes? Last year's team would have been a Final Four contender
