Was pumped when I saw Cold 187um on there...kinda pissed he didn't give the creator of GFunk something funky & west coasty to ride over...he switched it up for Xzibit, though. I think that was my biggest disappointment on the whole thing, didn't really let Hutch shine.

-Mash doesn't get it. I like most ALL the SONGS. A good song = something enjoyable to listen to, which they are for me.

I'm a 36 year old professional, I don't pick apart songs looking for how "gangster" or "violent" they are bud. I like that **** too, of course....gangster rap is my first love -- but it's not a necessity for me at this point. May be time to grow up like all your favorite artists have. :)

The reason people never gave TPAB, or any other "different" rap album a chance was the intros didn't have that recognizable Mustard on the beat, or Mike Will funky beat or one of the other big time today producers on it. People mostly want a deep, able to dance to, head nodding beat and only then can they even start to undress the lyrics. Sad, the lyrics are what it is all about.

Kendrick taking shots at Drake

In the old days, it was personal. The hate was real.

Now---IMO, it's all co-ordinated BS marketing & publicity. WAY too much money involved for these guys to just go off spouting crap.

BBdK---I listen to a LOT of music. Rap isn't my favorite but the kids got me listening to a few artists that interest me. Lamar, Eminem, Snoop and for some unknown reason I like Cypress Hill. Can't stand Kanye, Puff/P-Diddy or whatever he calls himself and the Beastie Boys have never done it for me which is probably blasphemy for some. Drake is ok but have a hard time taking him seriously.

However, having two daughters, any song that is nothing more than Ho this and Ho that just pisses me off.

To really put this album in perspective, I've tried to compare it to what's going on in rap today...LOL.

Blessed to have this. There's nothing that compares. **** it might be the best thing we have for years. Hip hop is weird now. Dre put together classic sounds with a modern twist. Couldn't realistically ask for much better.

...wouldn't mind seeing a remix.

Like what does Jay do when he hears this? How jealous is he that he's been spitting on euro trash Kanye beats and disk get a shot at this Dre productions. What does Kanye do? Maybe it will kick his *** in gear. Maybe it's too late. Maybe on 10 years we will have a Kanye finale that's done up real proper.

Yeah, he gets a nice beat switch which suits him perfect. Goes hard.

Imagine you'll like the DJ Premier collab as well, dope *** beat that they let ride a bit.

Just take some time this weekend and listen straight through, only way to get the full feel imo.

I'll give my full review on Monday or later once I settle down and can be objective :flushed: But there is zero doubt I love it, especially in 2015.

F'n hooks tho...and this one's speaking foreign. Dre must owe a lot of favors. I'll shutup now. Focus on the good energy, block the bad.

Ok Em is good. Let these legends carry a whole track...

Harness good, block bad..

Very good song. Eminem did his thing.

BUT THAT DAMN HOOK LADY AND EXTRA FILLER

All good. I am appreciative. Good stuff. Nobody could do it better. Not even me and I'm the greatest A&R on catpaw.

I agree that you have to put this record in perspective. The production would hold up in any era, without question.

Lyrically, no. But...compared to the majority of what's coming out today, it's fine. Also agree that we'll likely not see anything this good for a while.

Can y'all find a gd production list? Another reason I hate this digital ****. Everything's so secretive. I want a damn booklet I can read and touch and see what I need to see. Googled for 5 minutes and just found stupid blogs and websites. Nothing.

Still, as many extras are all over this album, you got real verses from Cube, Snoop, Em, Kendrick, and even Game. That is amazing.

Would have really liked more Cube and Dre.

Just read some older interview with Premier and he said Dre rapped on almost every song he heard (8 tracks). Should have left himself on there!

Quite possibly the gayest thing a rap fan could worry about. I guess the booklets are good for shout outs too! Groundbreaking stuff in those booklets!

That tricky Dre, just so secretive!

This one will be Apple only. Just buy your first CD/ITunes in a decade+ like everyone else...he's earned it.

Even though he didn't write 90% of what he rapped, Dre's 'rapping' is wayyyy more advanced/technical than it's ever been, kinda impressive. Sounded pretty comfy.

Diary is awesome. Dre should have rapped more, imo. He might be too humble.

Yeah, it's a pretty perfect closer. Majestic sounding, simple with that classic Dre feel, ideal way to ride off...

<--------- booklet/credit stalker. First thing I do when ANY album of interest drops is go see the production list.

I wouldn't even want to collaborate with Kendrick. Jesus. Not really fair to who follows him.

[laughing] Pretty much.

He's an animal. Be cool to see he & Em over some Dre I suppose, but not sure many people are even comfortable with him on a track if they're being honest...

He's just too good man. :flushed:

He has that gift that you instantly want more as soon as he's done.

Felt that way with Wayne back in the day.

RIP Wayne, but he was definitely special (to me) for a bit way back when.

Kendrick is on a different level though.

-Game surprised me, I really dig that song/beat. Sets up perfect for him, and he delivered. Even kept his name drops to a minimum.
