[laughing] Pretty much.

He's an animal. Be cool to see he & Em over some Dre I suppose, but not sure many people are even comfortable with him on a track if they're being honest...

He's just too good man. :flushed:
Right before and afterGKMC he was just killing everybodys tracks. He killed Collard Greens with Q on whatever his album was called, I forgot oh yeah Oxymoron. He killed two or three songs with Game (The City, See No Evil). The remix to ***** dont kill my vibe with Jay Z was probably better than the original. Control, That song with 50 cent that I cant remember the name of right now.

This one will be Apple only. Just buy your first CD/ITunes in a decade+ like everyone else...he's earned it.

.

If a burger you ordered came 25% complete, would you pay for it? That's how I feel about music. Here's my method: Torrent the CD, if 80% of it is good, then I buy it (because it will probably be better quality, bonus tracks, booklet, to make it worth the purchase..). I will never pay for an artist's 2 good singles and 8 "mailed in" tracks. Just not going to happen.

It's interesting when you think about it. How come singles are so much better then the rest of the album? Some artists can put out CD's where the entire track list could be sing-worthy. But most make their 2-3 hits and the rest of the CD is throwaway.

Sounds like this Dre album is worth the purchase...

Singles are usually the most mediocre, btw, as they are (were) used as marketing tools. To attract the most ears.

Now singles are it. You make a career of a mixtape, social media, and dropping singles every once in a while. Tour, and drop another mixtape. Leak a single to keep the sheep happy.

If I'm expected to perform at 80% of my job, then so should everyone else. It's not the consumer damaging the music community, either. Blame the record labels for that. Most people, despite having free means to steal ALL the music they want with no repercussions, still purchase some subscription software.

Singles may be mediocre on content, but they also have the most "infectious" production values. I don't know how to quantify that value; what makes a song catchy and drives consumers, no idea. But singles are the bread winner. Lyrics come 2nd to the actual sound. People want the catchy tune that comes with singles.

Some artists can fill the rest of the album, and some can't.

Just bought it, hope it's worth $14......or two lunches!

Once downloaded I might call Apple and complain about the lack of a digital booklet to read about the cuzzes and homies from the block! I mean for $13.99 it should at least come with a 40 yo!

Lol, we like the liners for the PRODUCTION CREDITS (and to a lesser extent, writing) you dipshit...not shout outs.

For a novice, that means -------> who makes the beat you're listening to & who contributed to the lyrics.

Penny saved is a penny earned. I could argue I'm doing some "artists" a favor by not supporting them.

Remember the never-ending rumor of the Dre-produced Jay album after Dre seemed to always have a track for Jay there for a bit?

Yeah, that was about as likely as Detox, but the mere thought/fantasy still used to make me o_O

I think Kanye is too far gone at this point to be shocked into a competition, which sucks.

Why did Kanye quit sampling the old soulful stuff? Man, he was great at that.

Touch a bunch of 'drill' music. [sick]

Solid, far from great or Dre-esque. Good west coast beats, solid guest appearances, Dre was Dre and for 2015 this probably becomes an album of the year candidate.

Album really starts slow and got better almost every song to the end. Dre/Snoop on Satisfiction was my favorite first go round, but as was mentioned these albums have to be heard 2-3 times before everything stands out.

...Which is the opposite of most 'albums' (lol), that front load and would be better off ending at around 5-6, if that.

[eyeroll] at not 'Dre-esque'. It's pretty much ALL Dre...wtf is it, then? It's dope is what it is. Listen again, hush, and enjoy. It's not The Chronic. It's not 2001. It's Compton.

The less you post, the better. Always keep that in mind.

Too bad Justin Bl:fire:ze won't step up to replace him. Always thought he was better anyways, even at both of their peaks.

That guy die or what?

Oh, I guess He & JayElec have that album coming out tho. [eyeroll]

Just Blaze still does stuff, just not exactly sure what. Think he just DJ's. That guy really loves music.

Where didn't Swizz Beats The Monsta go? Haven't heard nothing about him in ages. He was always around somewhere, doing something.

Think he's still trying to figure out how to make a 'Slaughterhouse' song that's actually listenable. Wish he'd give up.

Or maybe he's dicking around with EDM, which every producer seems to want to try these days.

He & Ye both need to get back in their lane that made them and stay there imo..

 at my boy Warren's timing on his cute little EP yesterday. Poor guy has gotten **** on by Dre his entire life, he should treat his sibling better imo.

There must not be much left, b/c the ones Warren used for that EP were bordering on embarrassing, and I'm sure he has access to most/all.

What a shame. RIP Nate, he was the GOAT in that little genre.

Maybe he's lazy. Would make sense given his 10 year absence minus a few random songs for people....plus he gained about 200lbs at one point, so that falls in line with that theory as well.

The talent is obviously there, he basically invented an ENTIRE sound and type of music, expanding on what Hutch/AboveTheLaw started. Maybe he's bitter for never really getting his due props or being fully embraced by Dre, his family.

Always kinda on the outside doing his own thing, it seemed.

Take yourself too serious on an Internet message board man.

Not Dre-esque means it ain't setting the world on fire, it just isn't that kind of album. As a matter of fact it probably fades quickly because nothing about it really stands out as can't miss. I'm not calling for the chronic or '01, but a Dre album should clearly be separated from anything anyone else is doing. It isn't, and that doesn't mean it is t good. For 2015 like I said it probably is nominated for rap album of the year etc but by Novemeber it won't be anything I'll be listening to.

Well, that's pretty much false.
