Wouldn't be surprised if Slay slipped into the first round with a good outing at the combine.
Not saying it will happen but I do believe, with his bigger build, that he translates better to the NFL better than John.
That's great that we have 2 of the top 3 CBs in the draft, though. We've come a long way from the latter Sherrill years and the Crooms riding his golf cart around practice

The Saints had scouts at the UT game. One of them ended up at our tailgate after the game and he said they had Slay higher on their board than Banks most of the season.
I have always said there was more value in Slay than Banks in terms of the Draft, especially when Slay was a projected 4th or 5th round pick. He's just as good as Banks in terms of coverage, but maybe not as solid of a tackler.
If Slay had qualified out of HS, he would have been the star of our secondary this year.

It's just proof that you can have the best corners out there, but without a pass rush, it's tough to stop the pass.
Or...that you can have the best corners out there, but it doesn't help when you have them 15 yards off the LOS in a prevent 17ing defense all game.
Wow I must be popular right now as much as anybody else on here with the prefix "coach". Saw where C66 was getting blasted and C34 is always getting blasted. But let me blast back a little, wasn't it you tenyearplan that said I was a dumbass when I said Slay was a better cover corner? I also said something similar about Love. Hmm....funny. Oh well I guess no matter what it just proves the idiocy on the board as it pertains to EDUCATED posts.
