Good Grief my baby Jesus!!!

The Top Quarterback in North Carolina committed at the University of Alabama.

This 6-foot-4, 200 pound rising high school junior is going to make noise, break records, and get that Heisman. He will become the third to reach such achievement.

Apparently he was also being recruited by the likes of North Carolina, Clemson and Georgia.

Congratulations!

Let’s get down to business . .

I know Saban and Sarkesian are Very high on Drake! He wants to win a national championship, so this committment didn't surprise me at all. I figured it would be either Clemson or Alabama.

I was along the lines that he would have picked North Carolina to follow his brothers path. It has been since 2017 that Alabama has won a National Title. They have 17 total. 5 under Sabans watch.

How many kids from North Carolina have went on to play for Alabama?

i think that would be more to follow his dad since his dad went to UNC as a QB.

You are correct!
Met his father in the past. Great guy. That whole family has pure athlete blood.

The mother was a pure star basketball player at west Charlotte HS. She could have easily played college but didn’t want to.

His father Mark was all state football, basketball, baseball at Independence High School. Mr. Parade All American UNC QB who set records at the time although being injured for more than half his career there.

He spent one year in the NFL but it was cut short by recurring shoulder injury. If not for his injuries he would have been an NFL starter.

Remember his grandfather Jerry. Well he was a star left handed pitcher for Catawba college who set records and played a few years of minor league baseball.

His brother Luke 1st team all ACC Junior year at UNC basketball and hit winning shot over Kentucky to go to final four soph year.

Cole was a left handed pitcher at University of Florida national champion freshman year.

Beau now 6’10 but has been beset by injuries and hopes to be ready for senior year.

Hope he does well on a personal level played against his old man - cannot stand the arrogance of Bama and their excuses at SEC media days after they got drubbed against the Tigers. Glad to see the kid go big time but man the Tigers would have been nice but they are loaded at QB for while as long as they pan out so it makes sense from player perspective. Hope to see him play this year. I hear the skill at Meyers Park is pretty scary!

Spent sometime in Alabama last week. Had a bunch of sports talk radio in my ear. Bama fans are without question the most arrogant in the country.

B & G i worked in Hoover for 2 years. You are spot on! Florida was that same way during Spurrier and Meyer run. Bama has a national microphone with that Finnebaum show! Only in America can a guy that like F-Baum have a national sports talk show - lol!

Went to both Notre Dame playoff whippings. Miami for the Bama thrashing and last year to Dallas for the Clemson game. Clemson fans 1000 times more classy than Bama. No comparison.

What is the over/under on Drake leading North Carolina in passing yards with those high octane receivers? I'm not even sure he leads the Charlotte area.

Navy Shuler threw for 4000+ last year. This year is up for debate.
The NFL Quarterbacks son?
That kid is a mean clean throwing machine....
Roughly 800 more than Drake......not bad

#1 in the State of North Carolina
9 offers
Graduates next year
But why is he going to Appalachian State 97-72-5 (verbally committed)

***Appalachian State, Charlotte, Coastal Carolina, Duke, Liberty, Memphis, Southern Miss, Temple, Tulane, Tennessee, UCF

Drake will move up in rankings soon during or after his jr year. Also you have to keep in mind that he doesn’t train full time as a QB, he plays basketball also even in spring and summer as well

Dean Smith once said its impossible to rank kids 1-100

There’s a reason #1 is going to a small school I’m sure .........I’d really like to know why

Navy Shuler plays at Christ School and most teams they play are basically 1A schools that couldn't beat a Mecklenberg County JV team, watch his clips. He couldn't do jack squat against Charlotte Christian, kept throwing shuffle passes. UT has not offered him at all even being a legacy with his Dad Heath playing there. Also consider Drake sat out the 2nd half of many games, and even more he didn't play the 4th Qtr as the games were out of control, add in 2 games the other teams had to forfeit due to the on field brawls and he could have easily thrown for over 4,000 yards.

That solves the situation here.
When Onebadtiger29 mentioned Navy Shuler, I automatically thought 4A

That schedule can guarantee he will pass for 4000 yards for sure this yr.

Saw Maye for the 1st time, as a freshman at Hough. I was like Damn. We have to deal with him another 3 years. A total stud. We knew immediately they had a QB controversy on their hands. MP got an Awesome pick up. His play makes up 90% of their offense. They go as far as his arm takes them.

So is it now about the Trenches still or Drake making 90% of their offense

Which one is it?

You can't discount his receivers though. They are top flight. Porter Rooks and Muhsin Muhammad III. They are ranked the # 4 and #6 players in North Carolina and #24 and #26 receivers in the nation, respectively. I've seen both play and they are as advertised. And the the Bowick kid from last year..............crazy ball skills and hands (Virginia Tech commit).

Boswick was unreal for sure, he was elite. Not discounting them at all, but you still need a QB to get them the ball. Hickory Ridge has a skilled WR, who's the fastest kid in the State and Sun Valley has a Wr who's a stud. No matter how elite you are as a wr. You still need a QB who can make the throws. You think Maye being at MP, had something to do with Rooks leaving Providence Day? Everything starts and ends with him at QB. They lost a lot on the OL, so we will see how well they can protect him this year.

Ask Sam Howell how playing with enormous talent with no o-line and run game will take u.. I agree his arm talent n receivers will win a LOT of games. But if ur gonna beat the wake forest's or MCs in the state better establish a run game.

The entire 2nd half against Vance. They ran the ball a whopping 3 times for 6 yards. Yes! Run game is important. Especially coming out of Charlotte. You need balance.

The Newman Brothers will man the RB position along with Twan Flip with hopefully an adequate and improved O-Line

I think he made the right call, even though I would have liked to have seen him stay home at any of the NC schools. Despite Jalen and Tua being hecks of athletes, Bama is traditionally a, "hand off - stand still QB" school. The past few years have been out of the norm. I think he really fits into what Bama wants. Smart, tough, hard worker who won't make a lot of mental errors and can manage the stable of studs to championships.

Drake can move up and side to side in the pocket very well, and can get up field when necessary, he's also pretty mobile to be able to roll out.
