Dudley vs Southeast Guilford

They’re clicking on all cylinders now and look like they will have something to say about 3A this year.
Southeast is as bad as I have ever seen them. Don't want to hear any of that crap about there best players have left for Dudley and Grimsley! Why have they left? When Tinsley was there he kept his kids. The coaches look uninspired the players look miserable
What does this have to do with what I said and the outcome of 3A?

Smh, sad to think that most of you read that 2nd paragraph in a Joe Biden voice inside your mind ..... but, honestly @New3ra I don't think Dudley is clicking on all cylinders yet! They have played 2 of the worst teams in the triad in Page and SE. Hope it's helped but we need to see them vs a Hillside or someone that can expose and hit back.
Bates is a really good coach though. South east beat Dudley last year
Hillside got blanked 14-0 to Southern Durham. From what I reading on Highschoolot, some of the fans aren't happy with the New Coach's Option Offense he ran in New Bern. The QB was throwing Ducks in the air. That their Offensive Line isn't giving his QB (He is short as well) time the first 2 games. Dudley is big on both sides of the ball. 3 WRs at 6-2 that are quick. Their DBs are tall too. Dudley QB when he has time in the pocket will pluck you apart. He has a very pretty deep ball. I don't see Hillside beating them base on the footages I seen so far. Dudley @ Eastern Guilford might interesting the last game of the season for the Conference Championship. Baring injuries!!! When Dudley loss to S.E. and Hillside last year, the problem wasn't they couldn't move the ball. It was the bad timing on the Center to QB exchanged that would make them lose yardages at the worst time. That hasn't been a problem this year. The Qb wasn't moblie, he has worked on his escaping pressure since the scrimmages with Charlotte Hough and W-S Mount Tabor.
Southeast Guilford isn't no where close to being the worst in the Triad. 2022 at 7-4 (3rd behind Grimsley and Northwest Guilford, 2021) at 7-4 behind Grimsley and Northwest. 2020 at 6-2, 2019 at 9-4, 2018 at 14-2 and 2017 at 9-3. They are most likely finishing 3rd to Grimsley and Northwest this year again. The worst teams in the Triad are Western Guilford, W-S Atkins, Parkland, Gbo Smith, N. Forsyth and Eden Morehead.
No way NWG finishes 2nd behind Grimsley. They are awful on Defense and Special Teams. The Metro as a whole is awful. Grimsley then pick the rest out of a hat.
That's crazy about Hillside. Yeah, you're not going to take over a traditional top 25 team who has D1 players making plays in Space and say ok guys we're running a version of an offense from 1932 that won't translate to the next level and none of you playing on offense will get an offer.
When I said clicking on all cylinders it had nothing to do with the opponent and more so to do with them all gelling early. Last season it wasn’t like that, it was bad snaps, false starts, less team chemistry, etc.
Also, if you know football you can clearly see, well at least I can. That they can compete or match up with anyone they’ll potentially play. I give my honest assessments on every team and it helps that I don’t represent any of these teams so there’s that. Grimsley’s schedule was questioned last season and teams found out they were for real in the playoffs. East Lincoln was the same way.

The head coach for Hillside and the players have been going back and forth about which offense to run. In their scrimmages they would run his offense and then run a spread at times. I think he’ll be successful down the road but it’s going to be hard to keep that young talented QB and others there that don’t want to run it. A few of their players already left this summer for Southern Durham.

But I think warhead has a point. Dudley needs to take southeast off the schedule
I’ve been saying this also. I don’t get why they still play and after last night southeast may take them off.
MaxPreps is terrible if that’s where you seen it.
Still a little closer than I expected. Nf likely finish top 3 in conference
I been telling my friends at Dudley they should remove Southeast and Page and replace them with someone like Reidsville, W. Charlotte, Fayetteville 71st, E. Alamance, Oak Grove and S. Durham. Dudley vs Reidsville would be a big Gate Game for sure. However GCS System would fuss about Dudley dropping Page and S.E. and breaking up the City Rivals. But I would if it's up to me.
They tried to play them..the whole Grimsley thing has been discussed way too many times now. That’s why I don’t think they were mentioned.
How can you say Dudley is hitting on all cylinders when they beat a team Bessemer City would probably beat. They may be great but you can’t tell that playing inferior competition. Bragging about beating inferior competition in just sad.
If you read the entire thread before commenting you would realize I said something about it not having to do much with the opposition and more so to do with them as a team gelling. Last season they had chemistry issues and had trouble with the little things that matter such as false starts, bad snaps and just not clicking as a unit especially early, which is why one of these same teams beat them last season. You also failed to mention Reidsville was only up 23-17 at one point against one of these same teams. I actually have taken the time to see many different teams in person already and will continue to do so. Nothing about it was bragging. If it was another team clicking, looking good or struggling in certain areas at this point I would’ve said so. Everyone including myself talked about how good Weddington looked week 1 after dominating a bad Cox Mill team and it wasn’t considered “bragging”.

Every since 2008 when Dudley had Ricky Lewis Jr and they both won a 3AA & 2A Chip. We play them in Basketball all the time. I remember when Dudley and Reidsville was in the same Conference back in the mid 80's. It was Dudley, Grimsley, Glenn, Morehead, Reidsville and Southeast Guilford I believe. They were all 4A for a 4 year term. After that Morehead and Reidsville moved down to 3A and Reidsville moved again to 2A which they are now still. I don't know why they can't make it happen.

They use to play each other. From 2004 to 2016 they played every year, with Dudley going 11-2 winning the last 9. However Grimsley didn't become a Strong Team like Today until the 2019 Season. They then had to slay the Dragon called East Forsyth would had their number winning 12 in a row until finally Grimsley beat them in 2021. I don't for sure, but I think Grimsley took Dudley off, just like Northern Guilford did. For what reasons I don't clearly know.
The future isn’t looking too bright for either program Page or Southeast, sadly if there’s any hope at the feeder middle schools those kids will most likely choose a different program to attend. That was made apparent with Grimsley’s now QB! Wouldn’t surprise me if more kids leave both Page and SE in the very near future!
Southeast and Page will be just fine. Southeast had like 30 seniors on last years team and a lot of them were starters, they are in a rebuilding phase. Page had assistant coaches leave this summer and a lot of kids followed them. We expect continuity in the coaching staff, along with being the only school in the county with a new turf field and a brand new school being built within the next few years, we will be fine...

No doubt southeast and page will be fine. However, I do think its time for Dudley to move on.
I don't think they slayed East Forsyth. Covid Slayed East Forsyth. They had 5 D1 Players leave that spring for college along with 10 other smaller level players in total is was about 15 Seniors from a back to back championship team that didn't return for the Covid Spring season. Grimsley had almost all of their players return to try and win one as where East did the complete opposite. I would have loved to see Ty Lyles, and crew stay and play Grimsley for a shot at a 3peat. That year Grimsley slayed the EF JV team and won the Championship against Cardinal Gibbons who East beat in 2019
Now that Grimsley has upgraded their program I believe that there may be more interest from the Grimsley side to play the game now. The Grimsley at the moment is far different than the pre 2019 versions of Grimsley.
