Isn't going all the way back to January cherry picking??????
My advise for most of you. Stop reading SL and if you continue reading, stop complaining about it. Your ship is getting old...real old.

I haven't read that trash since the spring, but with so many posters rehashing the articles each day how could I not know what the idiots are writing over nj.com/star-ledger. So, my sh*t isn't getting old. I chalk that up to you because you're older.[winking]

I am old and so is my dog so you got me there but seeing so many I hate NJ.com threads is really getting old because there is nothing fun or entertaining about them. On the other hand, Pork Roll threads ....can't get enough of them [banana]

Hell, I go back to the Stadium Expansion articles the Star Ledger put out when I complain about that rag.
It has a history of spinning positive facts into negative moves and still doing that in the present.
When the Star Ledger and NJ.com are being discussed, their history of turning positives into negatives where RU FB is concerned must be part of the discussion.

So instead of saying I cherry pick, say I dig up the roots of that cherry tree every one picks their cherries from [cheers]

It's not the sl's job to be our best friends but IMO anyone who doesn't think they don't have an obvious bias against Rutgers are like the local politicians from JAWS who denied that they had a shark problem.

Unfortunately the folks that complain the most keep starting threads so we all go see what they are talking about and nj.com gets more clicks and honestly the OP here is making a mountain out if an ant hill.

If your dumb enough to click on the site please stop complaining about how dumb you were. (Same thing apply to those that visit other teams sites)

We've been dealing with this for years with the star ledger!!! How can people defend them!! It drives me nuts!!! Im tired of Rutgers getting no respect around here!!

Every single person at work said something about the spike to me at least 20 people! But you know what my response was, but that means they were watching! And glued for that matter because it was the last play of the game so that means they watched til the very end... But i got soo many props for hanging in there with msu and im noticing casual fans are tuning in more...and every game i make it a point to bring people that never been before and they all are amaZed at what an electric atmosphere is and they want to come back...yet some lifelong season ticket holders are canceling their tickets for bone head reasons.... I was screaming my head off all game and when msu lined up for either the punt or fg i was the only one yelling at the top of my lungs block that kick! Block that kick! I didnt stop and other Rutgers fans were looking at me like i was nuts but what happened they blocked it and everyone went nuts around me and high five me!! We need true fans that support the team and the coach no matter what...some of you are miserable back stabbers...

How you gonna hate one Flood for the grade incident? he was stickin his neck out for his player...granted university rules not NCAA say coach cant talk to professors but Flood did what he was supposed to do and what we should expect him to as fans.. .. He didnt try to change the grade at all just went above and beyond for his player and risked his career for a player .... Yet some hold that against him...it was nj.com and duggan and politi that burned him on the cross for it and demanded he be fired! And you sheeple are starting to get brainwashed and are starting to follow them and stick up for them its a shame![/QUOTE

Why would he regret? Because had he gone to the NFL he wouldn't have been outside the Hale Center and have the stigma (rightly or wrongly) of being someone involved in an altercation with a woman which could cause his 2016 daft stock to drop.

I can play this game too. Like all juniors, Carroo considered whether he had better chances of being drafted in Rounds 1-3 by declaring early and decided to stay an extra year. That's on him. And the key bolded word is "could". Carroo COULD also play lights out the rest of the season and be drafted in the first round of next spring's draft, with the arrest/suspension all but a distant memory. Did the sh*-Ledger consider that possibility?

Plus half the stories they get are from topics on this board...you complaining about people complaining is hysterical... Its a message board!! Where else are we supposed to discuss these things...and mycentraljersey.com coverage is waaay better than nj.com although they dont put out as much...believe me if there was another message board i would be outa here in a heartbeat

You completely missed my point. I avoid the site like the plague. But the biggest complainers on here keep bringing them up. Stop posting about them period. If someone is dumb enough to go to the site than why do they compound their stupidity by posting it on here.
I have no idea why anyone would complain about them but continue viewing that site.

Whitebus....I don't understand your position honestly. If people on here ignore it, it still happens. It's like telling people to stop reading about the conflict in the middle East or something. Ignoring the stories don't make them go away. And sadly, the small amount of RU fans on this site compared to the stupid general public who read nj.com don't have enough of an effect by "boycotting" them. I know us RU fans like to act like they will be bankrupt soon but we've been thinking that for years and they are still here. The issue I think that most have is that their constant negative stories influence those of the general public who don't know anything about Rutgers or Rutgers football other than the false perception created by nj's own newspaper. That's the issue I see. And it really is disheartening to see that day in and day out. Me not reading it doesn't stop the other 300,000 to 500,000 daily readers from absorbing the nonsense. And I'd rather not have half a milllion people have their opinion of my university tainted by the ledger's idiotic story lines. Get it now?

Stop please. They don't get those numbers of NJ residents to that site. And you really think any of them actually click on a Rutgers Football article?? These sites drive more clicks to that *** Politti article than anywhere else. And to be honest I disagree a 1000% that this last Duggan article is a jab at Rutgers. Its a legitimate question and a fair article. Carroo can have 10 more games like Saturday but the fact is there are some teams that will pass because of recent events. His draft stock will not improve by staying an extra year. And that has been proven so many times recently without having problems. More film equates to more scrutiny.
And I loved Carroo's reponse

You are way off the mark. This site gets more visitors than clicks on the RU pages. And posts like this just feed us into the count. And honestly who the F cares? Everyone knows they hate RU. Plus the OP is way off the mark on this thread. It still is a legit question. Beside his problem includes the title which is not made by they writer

Exactly so why would you pick them ;)
In January? Cherries?

You wouldn't. You couldn't. Don't you see?
No cherries for 'Bus; no cherries for me.
The cherries are gone, but I really don't care.
'Cause the Ledger, you know, is sadly still there.
And the Ledger, those brats, with their RU hate,
Write nothing but crap as dumb-*** click-bait.

So avoid them, I say. Avoid them like mad.
Avoid them because they're pathetic and sad.
Avoid Duggan the dumb, and Politi the hack,
Avoid giving them even one more clickety clack.

And at the end of the day, you should be able to say...

I didn't get baited, I didn't stray.
I remained true to RU; made the Ledger pay.
I didn't chose sides with the Ledger's sick staff.
I didn't get in bed with that weak-*** riff-raff.
I didn't support them and their evil plan,
to destroy RU athletics as fast as they can.

So screw them all, those miserable pricks.
May they all get fired and have to turn tricks.
Good luck making a living with those little dicks.

And the most evil one at that talentless place,
I'd like to see him get punched in the face.
He's a loser, a no-one, he's barely a man.
I'm talking to you, you *** Manahan.
You're a jerk, a creep, an agenda-based child.
You make me forget I'm supposed to be mild.
Your plan, it won't work. You're destined to fail.
Your "paper" already winds up in the pail.
It won't be long now till they show you the door.
For incompetence sure, and 'cause you're a bore.
Nobody will miss you, not even for a beat.
Especially if you're spotted crossing the street.
In which case, I'd run if I were you.
And with that I bid you adieu.

The SL changed the title of the article in the paper edition to "Carroo: No regrets with delaying NFL". I wonder who pushed the change as it is certainly a much more positive headline.

yes it is his job to write warm fuzzies!!! He is a rutgers beat writer!! He is supposed to cover the team! Instead he is acting like an investigative reporter and digging up dirt on the team! Its constant with all of them over there...

Do you see these constant negative articles coming from Yankees and Mets beat reporters! Never! Tara Sullivans article on CC going to rehab the night before the playoffs was fuzzy...that b*tch hasnt said a nice thing about Rutgers in a while...i live in New Jersey and get Jersey newspapers and there is never any coverage except these hack pieces...this season there has probably been more on Michigan then Rutgers... I want rutgers articles that rutgers fans would want to read...there was never anything on the two Don Bosco kids returning for their senior seasons... Nothing on Kiy Hester returning and balling his *** off now...Nothing on the heart and will of Paul James returning from injury again...Nothing on the players who will replace the 5 arrested...nothing ever about winning the Lambert trophy for tbe 1st time ever!! I checked every day for weeks to see if the Lambert was gonna be in Herald News...not once!

But today we get Rutgers football GPA dropping.... Nothing about taking the #2 in the country to the wire, a team that demolished us last year...

They are hacks and you cant be a serious fan of this program if u are gonna stick up for steve politi and dan duggan

Oh good grief.

The NY baseball writers are out for blood on a daily basis, are you kidding with this stuff? I think the Ledger goes too far at times as well, but holy mackeral it's not their job to always write happy things.

Its a legitamte article??? If Leonte Carroo is happy he came back for his senior season why not an article on that without a negative tone?
headline:
LEONTE CARROO HAPPY TO PLAY SENIOR SEASON

instead we get negative article DOES CARROO REGRET COMING BACK

as if he made a mistake or duggan is implying he made a mistake...

Its that constant negative tone

You can pick cherries, you can pick your friends, you can pick your nose, but you can't pick cherries out of your friend's nose.
Well... I'm not so sure about that. It's the sort of thing one might accomplish given enough alcohol consumption. There's a deeper meaning to all this, but it escapes me at the moment.

It was also a safe bet for him to finish his Rutgers degree and further hone his skills. Carroo isn't a running back, who would tend to take a beating in college and have a shorter shelf life in the pros. Unless he was predicted to be drafted in the first couple of rounds last spring, staying was the smart move.
The unfortunate circumstances that occurred could have happened to any college football player or athlete for that matter, so there's no correlation of consequence to staying for another. Fair or not, it's a stupid question to be asking, especially after the MSU game.

The war in the ME will go on whether you read about it or not. That is vastly, vastly different from a for profit publication that will go out of business if people stop clicking their links and buying their paper. Apples and oranges, to say the least.

Especially after the MSU game? It was his first game back and the first time he was made available to media. Plus, there is a correlation. If he was in the NFL he wouldn't have been outside the Hale Center. The recruiting coordinator would not have been outside whatever NFL stadium he was due to play in that weekend.
