Especially after the MSU game? It was his first game back and the first time he was made available to media. Plus, there is a correlation. If he was in the NFL he wouldn't have been outside the Hale Center. The recruiting coordinator would not have been outside whatever NFL stadium he was due to play in that weekend.

So hypothetically, based on what you're implying with Carroo's mere presence at HPSS this season, because I decided not to upgrade my 3 year-old car with a new one 6 months ago, I'm supposed to feel regret now that I happened to get into the equivalent of a fender-bender with it a couple of weeks ago, and subsequently received repairs covered by insurance that have it running like new? That's a very weak correlation, if there even is any.

Now if the charges been more egregious or an extended trial had led to Carroo's suspension for the rest of the season, then his draft stock would undoubtedly be adversely affected and the article's writer would have possibly had what amounts to a fair point.

And my point is that Carroo had an excellent game back and almost willed his team to victory over a top 5 team during a primetime game. In his position, I'd be ecstatic and not even thinking about the events of the last three weeks. I'll agree that it's the media's right to ask him questions and write about Rutgers football as they please, but I reserve the right to criticize poorly premised articles such as this, with ridiculous original headlines (this one was apparently since changed).

I am familiar with what people's opinions are, I just disagree and think people are overly sensitive. It isn't his job to write warm and fuzzies. That said I am wondering what articles before the MSU game you are referring to. Looking back at the ones he wrote I see:

An article on the keys to the game for a RU win, a Q&A with Keith Lumpkin, staff predictions, article on Carroo's statement about being back, article on us wanting revenge for them running up the score, article on what Carroo's role will be, another on the secondary being tested by Connor Cook, update on the alums in NFL, Purdue giving RU hope, injury report, etc etc

So based on that can you continue your thought about every article...as I am not seeing anything objectionable.

Checkout the link below to an article 2 days ago titled " Rutgers Football GPA Dipped to Lowest Figure in 4 Years Last Spring". Basically they cherry picked one semester last spring where the GPA were down (not extremely).and came up with this title and the basis of the article. The article starts off trying to give the impression that academics are slipping under Flood. They even felt so strongly about it that the raised the question regarding this one semester and whether it should be a serious concern on the weekly B1G conference call. The balance of the article examines the big picture academic performance of the football program and strangely enough the performance of the program has shown a significant improvement under Floods watch the past 3 years with record high APR and graduation rates. Any rational, unbiased person would reasonably expect the title and overall tone of the article to be positive based on the overall recent improvement in academic performance. Instead we get the negative title and a article which begins with the implication that based on one semester's slight downward performance, the academics are slipping under Flood.
