Duke may be looking for a back-up plan after the recent social media activity from Dylan, Betsey and Warren
If I were a Duke fan (which i am clearly not) I'd start to question the model. I might consider switching from going after the best 16 and 17 year olds and look for the best 21 and 22 year olds that have college basketball experience.
Talent didn't help Duke get to the Sweet 16. They got bullied by players 3-4 years older than them.
Maybe, but they also made the final four last year and we’re clearly one of the best teams in college basketball. This year lacked a Banchero, a unicorn that only Duke could’ve landed. It doesn’t seem like next year won’t have one of those types either. But there’s definitely still value in recruiting high school still. If I were a Duke fan (which i am clearly not) I'd start to question the model. Easy to say, but what do you do if the one and done wants to play for you.Scheyer has already said he plans to move away from the one and done model. He wants to get older
Yikes...forgot they were in the Final 4 last year. Maybe I should put my keyboard away.Maybe, but they also made the final four last year and we’re clearly one of the best teams in college basketball. It’s becoming like college hockey in that regard as more meh-good players are developing into very good players. If I were a Duke fan (which i am clearly not) I'd start to question the model. I think Dylan has publicly stated that he wherever he lands he'd like to run the show as a point guard so if Duke views Dylan as a combo guard then I think that definitely helps RU in our recruiting pitch to him.Or they view Diallo as a point guard and Dylan as a combo guard
