If I were a Duke fan (which i am clearly not) I'd start to question the model. I might consider switching from going after the best 16 and 17 year olds and look for the best 21 and 22 year olds that have college basketball experience.

Talent didn't help Duke get to the Sweet 16. They got bullied by players 3-4 years older than them.

Scheyer has already said he plans to move away from the one and done model. He wants to get older

Maybe, but they also made the final four last year and we’re clearly one of the best teams in college basketball. This year lacked a Banchero, a unicorn that only Duke could’ve landed. It doesn’t seem like next year won’t have one of those types either. But there’s definitely still value in recruiting high school still.

Yikes...forgot they were in the Final 4 last year. Maybe I should put my keyboard away.

It’s becoming like college hockey in that regard as more meh-good players are developing into very good players.
