Except the SEC shares bowl revenue, so it’ll get added to the pot and split 17 ways (one share goes to the league).Around a $4.8M payout per team.
Why not? Get all the reps you can.Arnett will want to implement a whole new system before this bowl game...
Yeah you areHahaha. Wow. Not that anyone cares, but I’m not watching that ****. Spring game honestly would be more interesting.
Just officially get rid of the 6-win requirement for bowls and let them take who they want. We’re practically already at that point.
This isn’t true for a couple of reasons:Except the SEC shares bowl revenue, so it’ll get added to the pot and split 17 ways (one share goes to the league).

Gotcha! I guess I oversimplified it a bit….This isn’t true for a couple of reasons:
1. That’s only true when it’s a conference tie-in. This isn’t a conference tie-in because we’re an alternate selection. We get the whole $4.8 million.
2. Even when it’s a conference tie-in bowl, the 17 way split is AFTER the participating team gets a flat payout plus travel expenses. If this was a conference tie-in year for the Duke’s Mayo Bowl, we’d get $2.4 Million plus travel and the remainder would be split among the members and the conference.

We're also responsible for all expenses including guaranteed ticket purchase amounts. Does anybody know what that number is?This isn’t true for a couple of reasons:

Correct. When we became bowl "eligible" we went to the next bowl on the SEC's pecking order which was the Mayo. If they had all been filled like in 2016, then we'd have went to any open bowl that was left hence we went the St. Petersburg(Gasparilla now) which was not SEC affiliated.Mayo Bowl is a partner bowl of SEC, and we were included in the SEC’s slate announcement
I know we’re in the announcement and this is an SEC year for Duke’s Mayo (it alternates with Las Vegas) but I was basing that on (h) in the by-laws I posted since we’re a 5-7 APR selection.Mayo Bowl is a partner bowl of SEC, and we were included in the SEC’s slate announcement
Can’t imagine it’s more than $2 Million, so we’d come out ahead, but we might actually be considered an SEC team. We're also responsible for all expenses including guaranteed ticket purchase amounts. Does anybody know what that number is?
Yeah, it’s a common assumption.Gotcha! I guess I oversimplified it a bit….
So you would prefer we opt out?
