I had my son's flag football game at 4 yesterday and dinner plans afterwards so I dutifully DVR'd the game and left the cellphone at home so that I could avoid the texts from friends and score alerts. I got home and watched the game but the DVR only recorded until 6:30 , which was just before the Carroo TD at the end of 3rd qtr. score was 52-27 at that point. Like I said, DVR fail......

My friend was over and asked if we could put on the kc tor game whIle price was melting down. I said sure, I grabbed the remote and befoe I could touch a button, Turay scores. I said on second thought let's just keep it here for a few more minutes. I credit him with the comeback.

That's why I always add at least an hour onto my Rutgers recording. I know with directv, they ask if you want to extend it...hour is my minimum.

I think this is a good rule of thumb with any sporting event or even recording the next program after a sporting event that might have it's start time altered. FIOS has that too and I think Cablevision as well, even if it doesn't just record the next program after as well.

BTN lists games as being 3 hours which is ridiculous. I added an hour to the record time.

Learned my lesson after the Washington St game 2 years ago, I always add 1.5 hours just to be safe. I watched yesterdays game on DVR as well and was starting to get nervous thinking even that would not be enough if we went into OT.

That game is what started it for me too! LOL

Funny thing is that I watch 99.9999999999% live....and still record it....with extra time.

Did you mean Fresno State? I know that game went 4:20, because I only recorded 4 hours that night and missed the end of the game on DVR. If I recall correctly, last year's WSU game was just under 4 hours, like last night. I normally record 4.5 hours now, but for some reason only recorded 4 hours last night and made it by barely 2 minutes.
