You said you've been saying he's not that good of a QB for a long time, yet previous to Saturday your only visibility to him was his tenure as a high school QB, where you conceded he was a good QB. A good QB who apparently just threw the ball up in the air and hoped his gigantic 6'3" baseball stars jumped above the midget 4A defenses they played.
The fact is, we don't know whether he's an SEC caliber QB or not and nothing that happened on Saturday was concrete proof one way or another. He, unlike a lot of our team, particularly our QB, at least looked like he wanted to be out there. When he got sacked, he didn't look at the sideline like he had just seen a puppy get run over. Again, my sole original point was that all of you guys (Todd, you included) that broke your neck to get on and post about how you "called it" and you now had your proof that he was as bad as you had been saying all along, that when you look at the situation as a whole, there really wasn't a lot that could be gleaned from either series. Again, he might suck, but Saturday wasn't silid evidence of that.
I'm not saying that college baseball players aren't good athletes, I'm just pointing out the ridiculousness of talking about how stacked a team was football wise and then point to all the baseball walkons that were on that team. I mean, the Chicago White Sox at one time had the greatest basketball player ever on their roster and, oh yeah, he was bumped to the minors. On a side note, though, I think of football, basketball, and baseball, that, as a whole, baseball requires the least athleticism. Possibly, the most skill, but the least athleticism.
Granted, you probably spend more time watching high school athletes than I do. Yay you.
I shouldn't have made the cousin joke. It was childish and beneath me. I'm sure you and your cousins, male and female, have completely platonic relationships and I should not have implied otherwise. I should not have also implied that Dylan Favre had relations with any of said cousins, male or female. It was wrong and I apologize.
Don't lie about wanting him to succeed. If you want him to fail because of the pot smoking or whatever reason it is that you want him to fail, at least man up and admit that you want him to fail as the QB if Mississippi State so we end up playing Dak or Russell or whoever the hell else will win you SPS "I was right all along" points for that week.
