Sometimes growing up in a certain area makes a person not like the local team.
No, no, I’m a 3rd generation Redskins/Commanders fan. My parents’ families are both from Washington, we were the only family to leave Washington. (Dad worked at General Electric across from Drexel, just above the Palestra.) I grew up in Bucks County but consider myself Washington born and bred, that’s what I tell people.

I have told the board many times that I have lived a charmed life and I have. Where else could I have taught and thrived other than at Gallaudet? And in my home town, how incredibly lucky is that? My cousins have stuck around DMV and are tremendous people, we’re very close and supportive of each other, a great, amazing blessing. Two of my four sisters live DMV as well.

My grandfather played on the last Catholic University team to beat Maryland in football, 1915. I’ve told this story many times here but what the hell, says a lot about who I am, imo.

That fail wasn’t on Patullo. Hurts couldn’t hit a wide open crossing pattern that would have been a TD.

ugh, Goedert got blown up on the 2nd down play, resulting on Barkley getting tackled in the backfield.

44-yard FG attempt by the Birds is good.

7-3, Bears, with 13:04 left in the 2nd qtr.

I was speaking more from personal experience.

Apparently the only hope the Eagles defense has today is to get turnovers since they can’t stop them at all.

How Williams got away from that rush, wow, incredible talent right there.

Not sure why Chicago gets away from the run at all at this point.

Bears march down the field. Birds stop them on 3rd & 10 in the red zone. Bears kick a 30-yard FG, which is good, to make it 10-3, Bears, with 6:44 left in the 2nd qtr.

Lol, same exact thought. Why? You see that a lot, if you stop to think about it. I guess the working theory is that since there’s no possibility of a pass over the back line, more D will be in the box.

It seems that the Eagles could have 11 in the box and wouldn’t be able to stop them.

3rd & 10 ...

Nolan Smith with the sack, with Jalen Carter finishing it off.

Bears were 7 of 9 on 3rd down conversions up to that play.

Maybe they can take enough time off to not give the Bears a chance to score.

Birds let the clock run down to the 2:00 minute warning, and the Birds' fans express their displeasure for that decision

Bears have no starting LBs and Patullo can’t figure out how to run on them?

3rd & 9, and a completion to A.J., but it's called offensive PI. That's a stunningly weak call, IMHO

So on 3rd & 19, Hurts ends up throwing a dump down pass to Shipley, so the Birds have to punt. Mann shanks it. smh

This offense is a mess, though the refs blew that drive up

Fully one third of the Eagles drives have been three-and-outs. Oof. I did not know that.
I have been unable to find stats on three-and-outs but did discover that Philadelphia has scored on 34% of their drives, 27/32 in the league. Colts are tops, 54%.

Well, the Redskins never won Super Bowls in consecutive years. It’s hard, you have to be really special. Get the breaks, too.

I genuinely like the Eagles but for their last 5 quarters (and one play in the 3rd), their offense has been ***.
