And that's the pass you make on 3rd down?

This Birds team is driving me crazy

4th & 5, and the Bears appear to be going for it ...

and they convert. Loveland pushes off more than A.J. did earlier in the game, and Blankenship goes down, but no flag.
It’s interesting on NFL radio they talked for an hour about lack of OPI calls

TD, Bears.

19-yard pass to Kmet. He beat Baun.

8 play, 63-yard drive

With the PAT, it's 24-9, Bears, with 6:19 left in the 4th qtr.

It’s time to face the fact that the Eagles are merely “okay” this year. They aren’t the contender we’d hoped they were.

12 games in, we know all we need to. The offense is broken, again, despite having the highest cap allocation in the NFL. Some of that is coaching and some is on OL injuries. Some is on Hurts and other players not being consistent.

But this team will struggle to win 11 games this year. I think it’s a coin flip on whether Dallas wins the division. The Eagles are in free fall.

This has the makings of a 2023-esque late season collapse.
Makings? They’re already there. Looking at the offense, getting to 11 wins will be a battle. They lose @LA and @buffalo. Then they have the Raiders and Washington twice.

I don’t like the odds of beating Washington twice in three games with this offense. Going from 8-2 to 11-6 is a collapse by any standard.

I certainly don't know what goes on behind the scenes or if the A.J. Brown drama is real, but dang. He has certainly been getting more targets lately. To the detriment of the offense in general?? No idea.

The Birds are going for 2.

and they don't convert.

24-15, Bears, with 3 and change left

I’d rather go for two after the second TD then concede the game with an unsuccessful try with over three minutes left.
You go for it on the first attempt so you know how to call the rest of the game. It’s basic strategy. It shouldn’t even be a debate.

Using that logic, kick the PAT and you're down by eight. Then you'll still know exactly where you're at.
No you don’t. You don’t know if you are going to make the 2 pt on your second try. It’s better to have that information earlier.

Here’s the question, if you get the ball back with two minutes left in the game, would you rather be down 8 or 9? It’s pretty much that simple.

I thought basic strategy is to give yourself a chance to win for as long as possible?

With 3 mins left, you have to allow for a winning scenario on the game board. Missing the conversion eliminates any scenario.
