Few thoughts after the game…
- Losing Carter hurt. Now Ojomo and Davis are your starters and playing 87 and 90% of the snaps respectively with much less rotation, let alone situational rotation. Huge cascading effects.
- while Jackson didn’t do very well, what a first assignment to have to deal with. Not only is the offense light years ahead of the defense in the first few games of the season, but drawing lamb, a top five receiver in the league, is no joke. I don’t blame Dallas one bit for picking on him. Makes you think about how lucky we were to have Slay the last few years. He would have been a number one on probably half of the teams out there, and last year he was our number two.
- Mukuba played 84% of the snaps and Campbell 92%. Mukuba looked really good considering he missed so much time in the preseason, and Campbell looked like a rising star. Reminds me of Quinyon from last year game one. Super high on both of those guys.
- consider me highly concerned about Lando.
- great adjustments by Vic.
- Incredibly excited about Patullo’s future. Clearly, Vic will be here for a while, and since Patullo came from the quarterback’s room and is a first year OC, I hope he stays for a few years. Small sample size, but very happy with the variance of the offense. And since we’re talking about Vic being here for a while, I am so excited to see him continue to coach these young players. The Georgia boys upfront, coop and Quinyon on the outside, Makuba and Reed on the back end, and Campbell/Baun in the middle…. All super young and super talented.
- great win for the birds. Now take the extra time and rest up.
