Vic Fangio deserves a lot of credit here with halftime adjustments. With an assist from CeeDee Lamb.
The weather delay seemed to take the steam out of both offenses. It was a classic weird event that totally changed the game.

No way was the under going to hit before the delay, IMO.

I think offensive guys such as Lamb just lost their edge after the hour delay. The Eagles too.

I hate using a reverse jinx in week 1. But they squeaked out a win. They need to be a lot better next week. Getting Carter back will help.

Oh, that's what you were doing?! No doubt it worked ... that's why Barkley, Hurts and Sirianni all thanked you. personally, for reverse jinxing them after the game. The power of your particular reverse jinx overcame all the other jinxes out there, and the reverse-reverse jinxes. I thought my double secret reverse reverse reverse reverse jinx may have won out, but, alas, you were too strong.

Chris Collinsworth said when the delay was announced he expected both teams to come out flat after that delay because it is hard to reset after being in the locker rooms for an extended period of time. That's the way it played out.

Agreed... everyone can see Jackson is not the answer at CB. Things got better when he moved DeJean outside to CB and to me I am much better living/dying with bennett out there than Jackson.

Alright had some sleep time on the game and a little feel better now about last night. My thoughts.... First off obviously losing Carter hurt. Also wasn't talked about enough IMO was the emotional loss of Carter. The defense looked like deer in headlights after that incident. Wasn't until halftime that the defense started to get some footing and Fangio's adjustments. Next Dallas has a new HC/OC/DC with the entire off season to scheme for the Eagles. The Eagles had not seen how the Dallas would attack them. Give some credit to Dallas their offense is improved. They are taking the exact model from the Eagles. Building with high draft picks on the oline and getting very good WR's. The Dallas defense still is not very good. Eagles have the youngest defense in the league and lack of leadership showed when someone should have pulled Carter back to the defensive huddle when he started in with the Dallas olinemen. Fletcher Cox would have done that immediately. Eagles offense is still very very good. Dallas was selling out to stop Barkley and admitted it. I was surprised the Eagles didn't throw more especially with all the 1-1 with their WR. Lots to clean up over the next 10 days. Lots of it is correctable. Give some credit to Dallas they came ready to play. Biggest issue I see is Jackson at CB. I am willing to live with Bennett out there much more than I am Jackson. Jackson also tackles horribly in the run game. Howie will be working the phones for a CB. Dallas will probably hang with the Eagles record wise the first half of the season. Almost all their hard games are in the 2nd half of the season. They have a tough gaunlet to run in the back 8. Just some thoughts and I do feel better now about the game. It's hard to win in the NFL so I am happy with the W. Hopefully Dickerson can heal quickly. Need a FB now that ours looks to be lost for the season. Fangio will correct the defense. I can see this season playing out like last. The Eagles start slow and begin to build momentum the entire season as their young defense gets things figured out. BTW Jihad Campbell is going to be a stud. I also like what I saw out of Mukuba. Brian Baldinger has some good video breakdowns of them both already on social media. Eagles need to get things figured out, corrected as their next 5 games are very difficult including Washington who will be very tough. Otherwise I would expect with that difficult a schedule some L's coming their way. They are finding out being champions everyone brings their best in every game against them.

The defense will no doubt get a lot better as the season progresses. Carter’s ejection was a huge blow.

CB2 is obviously a work in progress where Jackson just seems outmanned as things were schemed last night. Vic may need to move Quinyon with the opponent’s WR1 more. We’ll see if the more athletic young CBs get more playing time.

I think Mukuba is a big upgrade at S. He made some nice plays in the second half.

That Dallas offense matches up well against the Eagles. They always have. It wasn’t until late when Dak had to throw downfield more that he looked vulnerable to turnovers.

When Dak sets up quick and gets rid of the ball, he’s Eagles kryptonite.

Hurts saved them but man that game plan was crap - no adjustments and no downfield throws outside of the early one to Dotson - 50:50 balls to AJ should have been thrown since the refs wee flag happy on PI.

I know it's only one game but if I'm Philly I'm shopping for a CB. As a contender Adoree just isn't going to cut it. Just my opinion...and I know it's not that easy to go get a solid CB
It would help if Jackson wouldn’t hold so blatantly. Grabbing the player’s jersey just under the chin strap is a little too obvious.

Few thoughts after the game…

- Losing Carter hurt. Now Ojomo and Davis are your starters and playing 87 and 90% of the snaps respectively with much less rotation, let alone situational rotation. Huge cascading effects.

- while Jackson didn’t do very well, what a first assignment to have to deal with. Not only is the offense light years ahead of the defense in the first few games of the season, but drawing lamb, a top five receiver in the league, is no joke. I don’t blame Dallas one bit for picking on him. Makes you think about how lucky we were to have Slay the last few years. He would have been a number one on probably half of the teams out there, and last year he was our number two.

- Mukuba played 84% of the snaps and Campbell 92%. Mukuba looked really good considering he missed so much time in the preseason, and Campbell looked like a rising star. Reminds me of Quinyon from last year game one. Super high on both of those guys.

- consider me highly concerned about Lando.

- great adjustments by Vic.

- Incredibly excited about Patullo’s future. Clearly, Vic will be here for a while, and since Patullo came from the quarterback’s room and is a first year OC, I hope he stays for a few years. Small sample size, but very happy with the variance of the offense. And since we’re talking about Vic being here for a while, I am so excited to see him continue to coach these young players. The Georgia boys upfront, coop and Quinyon on the outside, Makuba and Reed on the back end, and Campbell/Baun in the middle…. All super young and super talented.

- great win for the birds. Now take the extra time and rest up.
