Here's the basic details:
Recently, a resolution was put forth in the Faculty Senate at West Virginia University expressing "no confidence" in the leadership of Gee and Provost Mary Anne Reed.
It failed, miserably, in a vote taken this week in a meeting of the Faculty Senate.
Among the concerns expressed by those seeking to oust Gee and Reed from their positions were 1) lack of COVID-19 mandates, 2) hiring practices for senior staff, 3) academic issues, 4) qualifications for upper tier positions.
In a nutshell, that's it. Other minor stuff was voiced by those seeking change in leadership.
Gee lives on at WVU, and he rubbed it right up the asses of those who seek his removal, saying he could be doing other things as a 77-year-old. Instead, he said, he has chosen to be where he wants to be: WVU.
The man with the bow tie I.D. is where he should be.
