We will continue the slide to lose 6 out of last 7 games... UF needs the win to get off NCAA bubble.. Nick the slick gets a double double...
I fully expect us to win tonight now that we've lost all hope of a first round SEC Tournament bye. Further, now that we have to win the thing to make the Dance we'll probably reel off 5 in a row before losing the Championship game on a half-court buzzer-beater. The joys of being a Bulldog.
Yep, Florida is not a great road team, and the fact that UF -1 looks like such a good bet means MSU is probably going to win tonight. That's just been my experience with gambling. It's also why I quit. Pretty much any time I saw something that looked like a gimme, I lost.
...both teams have made a slide.
However, I don't like the matchups. If it is purely based on position, we have some very bad matchups.
PG: Dee Bost 6-2 170 vs Nick Calathes 6-6 194
SG: Barry Stewart 6-3 170 vs Walter Hodge 6-0 170
SF: Ravern Johnson 6-7 175 vs Chandler Parsons 6-9 213
PF: Phil Turner 6-3 170 vs Dan Werner 6-8 230
C: Jarvis "Swat" Varnado 6-9 203 vs Alex Tyus 6-8 220
The matchups I worry about are Chandler Parsons versus Ravern Johnson and Dan Werner on Phil "Thunder" Turner. I think Dee Bost can cause Calathes problems on defense, unless he gets posted underneath, and "Swat" can obviously cause problems for Tyus. Stewart and Hodge should be a standoff. Florida has a solid bench with little Erving Walker, post player Kenny Kadji, and swingman Ray Shipman. I don't think we have anyone who can come off our bench and match up favorably with them, except possibly Osby on Shipman. Florida's size will allow them to extend their defense, so we will be forced to pump up 3's from 25' again.

There aren't going to be many teams we match up with well on paper when we start three guys under 6-4 and two others that have the physique of spaghetti. Take Kentucky for example. You would have had Swat on Stevenson, and Turner on Patterson. Or South Carolina...SWAT on Muldrow and Turner on Holmes.
