It’s going to be hard to keep Jacob Parker out of the lineup. Beautiful swing with effortless power. Haven’t seen much on defense but I would assume the talent is there. This team has a lot of talent. It’s going to take a great coaching effort to keep all this talent happy and contributing but it’s a high class problem.

We’ve got about a dozen or so guys good enough to be everyday starters at 95% of schools in the country. And 3 or 4 of them have to sit the bench every game.

We’ve had offenses with more star power than this one but I’ve never seen us have as much offensive depth as we do this year.

I just assumed Milewski was our catcher. Hit over 300 with a buncha homers and RBIs last season. He hasn't touched the field that I remember after two starts and 0 for 7 at the plate.

He may be hurt, but the two other guys have been tearing it up. Have we ever had that kind of depth at catcher? And don't get me started on all the quality outfielders.

The roster is deep with a lot of really good baseball players. Just need a few to emerge as studs and solidify the lineup.

In the SEC currently we're:
5th in batting avg
10th in HR (interestingly we're 1st in doubles)
9th in team ERA

Even after yesterday's goat rope, we're 1st in fielding.

Yea, not sure what quality of pitching he was seeing at Seton Hall. He didnt look very good at the plate in the games he has played. Lots of swing and miss.

We could play our 2nd team and be competitive. I’ve never seen a State trsm
With this much depth.

We finally have a good team again with a great coach who runs his program the right way. Enjoy the ride.
While I certainly understand and agree with this comment, it’s still wild to think that in the last decade we

-won a conference championship (first in 30 years)
-5 straight super regionals
-3 CWS
-won a natty
-lost a season to the pandemic
-all with 4 different HCs

What do all of those accomplishments have in common? They were all at least 5 years ago.

I would think that, so far, he hasn’t seen a significantly different level of pitching. May just be a slow start.

7 at bats is not much of a sample size. Interested to see if he plays today. If not, I kinda think something other than assessment is going on. Could just be a minor injury.

We will know a lot more after next weekend when we play some P4 teams. The composite record of the teams we've played is 3-16.

We need Jacob Parker to play & develop this year because he & Nunalee should be the only returning outfielders with experience next season. I was impressed with the way he got down first base line to beat out the double play ball in the mid-week game. He really runs well for a kid his size.

Aiden Teel redshirt JR - draft eligible
Reed Stallman Grad student - will exhaust eligibility
Vytas Valincius senior - will exhaust eligibility
Blake Bevis senior - will exhaust eligibilty
Gehrig Frei senior - will exhaust eligibility
Bryce Chance senior - will exhaust eligibility

I do agree and I think he will be in the rotation for playing time & probably start for us next year. But I think we’ll be bringing in another big highly rated transfer class again next year.
