It's early I know but I'll post mine now. I don't see a dominate team this year. I see one team having the best chance with great line play and good defense. 2018 Class 2A state champs Glenvar Highlanders. Come December come back to this post and let me know what u think.

I'm seeing alot of possible contenders, but as of today schedule strength is allowing some to appear better than they are.
There are an awful lot of games left. Personally, I have seen too many team's seasons derailed by injuries. Especially in today's age when rosters are not as deep as they have been in the past. I could narrow it to 5-8 teams, but it all defends on how fortunate they are in regards to injuries. The best team doesn't always win, sometimes it is the team that has the ball bounce their way a few times.
If I had to pick one horse, I'm going to pick Appomattox because they are battle tested and have playoff experience. But I wouldn't bet money on anyone at this point.

Appomattox wins this. It’ll be a lot closer than the past 3. I’m impressed with what I’m hearing from East Rock.
Add Ridgeview to the conversation. I didn't see this game with Union, but I listened to it. I was impressed by Ridgeviews ability to pass the football. It sounded like this team is far from just a running team, but they can throw it also. I heard many tackles for a loss by Ridgeview vs Union and this tells me their line play must be very good. Time will tell.

Winger...I agree with you and would add Glenvar is the most overlooked team in 2A. The passing and running game are also starting to look like a State Championship team. They've now got the offense to go with the defense for the first time since 2014.
Not by me. My early season pick was for Glenvar to win Region C and then win the game against Region D in the state semis, and advancing to the state title game.
Probably won't get a good read on Glenvar til rd. 2 of playoffs. With Giles banged up and not looking too good and Radford not looking overly impressive either, Glenvar should go undefeated and possibly lock down #1 seed in C. Other than a week 1 win over 1A power Galax, not going to get a good read on how they stack up against the top 2A teams.
Pretty sure Glenvar is going to outpoint anyone else if they go undefeated, but they respect every opponent and take it week by week. Don't know when the points come out but three opponents have won every game except the one against Glenvar and 3A Cave Spring is 2-2..

The first set of official power points usually come out after week 5. I usually start calculating up Region D unofficially beginning week 3 though, cause I love having something to do.
