By the way it looks the east 4aa has a couple of teams that will match up well with the west , not going to name them but I have seen them play and pratice and this mite be the east best chance to cross that road. Can I get any suggestions.

Well, i guess you would have to name those teams . Wake Forest still throws the ball on average 5 times a game so you can eliminate them.

The only other teams i can think of would be Richmond and Middle Creek. Cant speak to Richmond.

Middle Creek i have seen a bunch on tape. Fun offense, very good QB and skill players but they are undersized upfront and havent played anyone in the vicinity of Butler, Page or Mallard Creek.

Every time you think a 4aa east team is good based on watching them practice and play the schedules they do you should go watch the Page-Middle Creek game from last year. A two loss Page team that got rolled over in the title game went to Apex and Wake Forest and beat both teams easily.

Huge difference between football at the 4aa level in the east.

Right now i would put Middlecreek 4th behind Butler, Page and Mallard Creek and maybe even 5th behind EF.

The Midwest is undebatably the hardest region. I don't like the playoff set up

There is no reason the Midwest should include Mallard creek, page, east forsyth, butler this year. The west has some good teams as well. The Mideast on average has 5 or more teams with a maxpreps rank of over 100

I understand your point, but when would they play? And there's a chance Page may go East again. The way the season has been this year, there maybe some playoffs teams with losing record which could move some teams from W to E or E to W.

EF is dead in the center of the Midwest, so there's zero chance they'll be moving anywhere.

Page is dancing on the Mideast/Midwest cutoff line, and we might not know which way they actually go until the very last game regular season game is played. Same thing applies for Mallard Creek dancing the West/Midwest cutoff line.

Order of which teams would go east based on lat/long

1.)page
2.) Northwest
3.) East forsyth
4.) butler

You're looking at Mallard creek and east forsyth playing 2nd round and butler and Page playing 2nd round

Page was simply better, no doubt. I'd say they win 7 of 10 last year against Middle Creek but the score was deceptive. 21 points of turnovers early. From there Page beat them 28-23 but Middle Creek out-gained over that period. Middle Creek lost their leading receiver and leading tackler from that game but returns everyone else. Page upsets previously unbeaten Middle Creek, 49-23

That tends to happen when the playoffs are the first time you've faced a decent opponent all year.

Middle Creek is the poster child for scheduling for success (along with Pinecrest), but then panicking and losing their **** the first time they face adversity because they suddenly have weaknesses they had no idea they had and don't have a plan in place for overcoming them because they didn't challenge themselves sufficiently enough earlier in the season.

like a puppet, here to spout your immediate cuts. not sure why you are such an angry person but settle down fella.

I've never criticized Mallard Creek or Page or Butler, or any other school on here. You've repeatedly said that Middle Creek shouldn't even schedule their own conference members but that's not possible. I hope they upgrade the schedule. Last year was pretty good. And the year before. This year's senior class hasn't lost a conference game. EVER. Their OOC opponents, again were #11 Garner, #25 Rocky Mount and #36 Wakefield. At least they get to play the game instead of having you decide it.

Just FYI, I've rooted for Middle Creek in each of the last two playoffs, and thought going in that maybe MC was the team to beat in both years.

But the fact is, you can't escape 100 years of proven results that have transcended many football eras. You still prepare to win titles by challenging yourself, not by waiting until November to see if you're any good or not. You won't be. Every time. And I'm saying that trying to be mean, it's just simple truth.

I sincerely hope that Middle Creek ups its game and gets serious about challenging for titles one day, because I think the potential is there, and heaven knows the state could use a good Eastern 4AA team to liven things up. When you look around the Eastern 4AA, there's not really a lot of roadblocks standing in the way to keep that from happening. I can promise you, though, it's never going to happen by just scheduling Raleigh teams. That is setting the bar way too low for anyone truly wanting to be a state player.

Like a puppet, here to spout overly sensitive remarks when reality is presented. I love when people justify loses by talking about turnovers. Yep, when you put yourself in a 14 point hole in the first 5 minutes of a game you usually lose. Middle Creek cut in to 12 and then Page put the gas back on. Leake ran all over them and pushed Middle Creek around. Physical playoff football.

What is it you want us to say about Middle Creek football or Wake county football for that matter.Page beats Middle Creek 10 out of 10 times last year. Bigger, stronger, faster. Drives me nuts when a team loses by 25 points and their fans say the final score was " deceptive" . Trust me, it really wasn't. As far as the schedule, I get it and its probably not their fault but Middle creek got GArner without Eaddy and Rocky Mount without Sherrod.

Middle Creek is going to go 12 or 13 weeks without having to play a game past half time. That is a recipe for disaster. That is not being critical its just reality.

Middle Creeks defense is vastly improved this year. A year older, bigger, stronger and faster. This is a senior dominated team and Dominique Shoffner at QB has improved dramatically over last year. His interceptions are way down this year. He is a very strong dual threat QB. He benches 315 and I don't know what his squat is this year but last year it was 425. Those are good numbers for a QB. He has decent size at 6'1" 210.

Every year their are some good teams from the Raleigh area. Every year there is great talent in the Raleigh area. Raleigh teams show year in and year out they they just aren't going to play difficult scd outside the area. Sometime the SOS is fools gold. Wakfield has a SOS of 5. They have been beaten by the 2 best teams in Ral by a total of 95-7. The rest of their scd is against avg teams at best. Butler has a SOS at 14 and I feel their scd has been much more difficult than Wakfield. We can all go back and forth on this but as stated earlier, the proof is in the pudding. Look at how the 4AA East has fared in the championship games. The West has won 21 of the last 22 and we have to go back to 2000 to see when it was even competitive. So until the results change its all talk.

No one anywhere is arguing the East is better than the west. No one, not anywhere on any thread. You guys are making up boogeymen to win arguments against. Congrats, you are very powerful and you have won the argument with yourself.

All I have done is point out that Middle Creek is having a good run the past three years and hopes to get another chance to get over the hump. They might but they might not as the West seems far and away stronger. What I have gotten for that is a constant berating of how poor every program, fan, coach and kid is in the East and that they should give up all hope.

If it makes you feel better, carry on but I hope you realize no one is arguing with you.

The point is, Raleigh has the talent to compete with the Charlotte teams and the Triad teams but they aren't. One of the biggest reasons is the better programs don't play tough scd and when they get to a very good team they get blown out.

Nobody is arguing because there is zero argument to be made. Lets also not make this an east thing as much as a Wake county thing. What you did is try to minimize the loss with the always fun " what if" excuse game. " What if" we didn't have the turnovers.

" The score was deceptive"....
I have watched the game twice. It was not competitive and Page while being a good team was probably the 4th or 5th best 4aa team in the West. This wasn't or at least shouldn't be a surprise because it is consistent with all the other performances over the past 28 years.

Is Middle Creek better this year? I would say probably yes but unfortunately there is no way to know that until late November because the schedule is so crazy soft its almost impossible to gauge.

Well I'm not a coach, player, or statistician , anything like that. I can only base my stats on past experience and common sense... Sometimes that ain't bad... It's obvious there's alot of power in the west right now. Not complaining. Every year it's like this, playoffs, brackets, east, west, winners, losers, whiners. We can only trust in the association to be fair and continue to do their best. You can't please everyone. Line em up and play ball best man wins.I think everyone does a good job with polls, predictions etc. We still have 4 more games, so you guys keep guess in keep bickering and GO RAIDERS. ..

I don't think they're championship caliber but I 've seen strange things. This season has been so wishy washy with the hurricane n stuff so I would like to see them more consistent, less mistakes, stop shooting themselves in the foot...Geez we know they've had time to fix some of these things... if they could put 4 quarters together like the 1st half at Butler...they could contend... They are so unpredictable right now... maybe they make a good run... sure hope so... GO RAIDERS...
