Starmount played a hell of a game ,no quitters on that team .Not sure how many seniors and juniors are on that team , hope seniors lol ,cause Rams are a tough team .

I am and was high on the cards all season, You can go back and read it in August , since I seen them at the 7 on 7. Northwest said it best , house money with the cards , they know who they are playing, don’t need to be reminded. Mitchell Edwards will have to be good for 3 or 4 yards at a time to at least establish something on the ground , Ray gets murdered in this game, Edwards is a bruising full back and physical enuff to get those yards, after that the cards will have to get it done thru the air with boaz at qb, they will have to throw it a lot against the vikes , if they have any chink in there armor it’s in there secondary. Cards can compete, if they ain’t beat before they hit the field. Gonna have to be a big day for the offensive line , boaz needs time , he’s becoming more mobile but not mobile enuff with the speed the vikes bring. Cards are young , a lot can be gained from this one for next year. They gonna be scary good and the benchmark in the west next year. Question marks on this one in my mind with the winter weather, will the state give the west the same favor they gave the east when they added the extra week because of Florence?? I imagine the impact to the cards practice schedule will be huge ,this is a big disadvantage in my opinion. Now for the loudmouths on here , I’m a bear fan and been high on the cards all year, not a sore loser, good luck to the cards , they are our conference foes but our kids grow up as friends and remain that way beyond football. We pulling for you guys hard!! Now to the others talking how the cards gonna get mashed, your team didn’t or don’t want no part of the vikes, that includes ALL 1a teams!!! Saturday will be as good a day for a football game as any, and Saturday will be as good a day for a upset as any, if you think they don’t happen , well you are a fool

Everyone knows but no one will mention the hard work it took years before this one to get there. Coach David Diamont had this team prepared to make this run to a state championship game. This should have been his team and what a way it would have been to go out your final game a State championship. Coach Lowman stepped into a great situation and has capitalized on it. This season does not make a great coach. It was a lot of hard work in seasons before by Coach Diamont and his staff but none of that will be mentioned.
No worries. You don’t fail to mention it every couple days, so it gets it’s few minutes. Why does this, or anything for that matter, have to be about who gets the credit? We all have a complex where we think we deserve credit, need praise, need attention. It’s the same as kids wanting “likes” on their social media posts. When it comes down to it, it is not about who gets credit, and if ANYONE is worried about what adult is getting credit for what the kids are accomplishing, then it’s just another example of how the adults are getting it wrong and screwing it up. It sure is not about that. It is about the young people participating, what they are learning, how they are growing, and what they can learn to do together. Credit is nothing. It doesn’t matter, not for a past coach, not for a current coach, not for a fortunate or unfortunate break, not for anything. Blame doesn’t matter. Credit and blame don’t change circumstances, and this applies to so much more than a team or a coach. Maybe the greatest strength of this Cardinal squad is that they are a TEAM and they appear to play for each other.

You mention it in every post it seems. This team wouldn’t be here today without Coach Lowman, end of discussion. Go worry about your team from Stokes County that you support.
Diamont deserves no credit for the success of this years team. In his 30+ years of coaching he had several teams more talented than this current ES team and clearly never got the job done. It’s incredible you don’t give Loweman and this current coaching staff the credit they deserve.
Just stop this about the coaches. Both were part of this success...end of the story!

Hadn't you heard? We are playing basketball. Hey, seriously, Congrats to East Surry! Cards deserve a chance in the title game. They are playing the best by far from the West of any teams. I am personally pulling for you to bring a title to Surry County. I know and feel a lot of hatred from both Mt. Airy and East Surry fans about each other, but hey that is what a rivalry is all about. Sounds like someones dad who didn't get a lot of playing time if I say so myself. You do realize a lot of the staff under Dave Diamont is still there, correct. I think Coach Lowman has done a phenomenal job! And I personally think no team in previous years has as much talent and capability as this 2018 East Surry squad. Just my opinion. I don't think there was ever a Regional Final for East Surry playing a team that had a 5-6 record ending the season. With all due respect, very weak bracket, but you play with the cards that are dealt!
Obviously you’ve been in your moms basement the last 30 years if you believe this team has as much talent as ES teams in previous years. This should’ve been a rebuilding year for the cards. Next Year is definitely there year because it’s a junior led squad. They will run the west and have a legit shot at Tarboro.
